Well ya'll......Saturday was a big day for us. Lil Lilly took Toilet Paper out in public for the first time since surgery. She asked if she could exhibition him before the barrel race which I agree'd to. And then asked if he could make a barrel run for real. Well......I said, depends on how he does in his exhibition run. I told her to just let him go in at his own pace, and not push him. He did fine in the practice run, so I let her go upstairs and pay her entry fee. Again I told her before her run, go in and let him do the runnin, don't push him, just talk to him the whole time and encourage him to run.

DAGGUM'd if he didnt go in and run a 16.6 and pulled a check!!!!!! wasn't a biggun, but he is such a trooper. He's not sore today at all......

She also took one of the one's she's startin and exhibitioned him 2 times.....slow, and calm the whole way thru both runs.

Yesterday was an outstanding day......I'll post another thread on what happened today to the horse that she was offered as a loaner durin the time Toilet Paper was off.

Toilet Paper got his name from the people we bought him from. They'd bought him at the horse auction for $400 and he didn't know anything. The fella started him on barrels, and gave him his name....Toilet Paper....not worth much. He'd said when he started winnin money he'd get a new/better name. Well when we bought him for Lil Lilly to barrel race on, they told her..."feel free to change his name" She was like..."nope...it's bad luck to change a horses name......besides....I like it!!!!" So it's stuck......and he knows his name. We do get a few odd looks at times when we are out somewhere, and someone says his name.....but also, I can't count the number of people we've met and enjoyed talkin to, just because his name was a conversation starter.
