Tomorrow is payday.

We have a lot of weaned steer calves listed on tomorrow's Superior sale. Base weight 525, weaned first of November, Vac 45, Source and Age through IMI Global.

I can't imagine what purebred breeders go through on sale day. The couple times a year that I have cattle up for auction always gives me butterflies.

Lot 2050

Hope you get a wonderful payday! Kinda adds to the suspense when the whole year hangs on only one or two major paydays, doesn't it.

Goodluck and I hope you get paid well.

As far as the butterflies go, everyone should have at least 1 bull sale in their lifetime :) Oh ya, and 100 head of 2 year old bulls running around. If 1 don't make you go nuts, the other one probably will

If those goats you are selling weigh 525 you may be graining them too much! :D

Hope everything goes smooth for ya and you grin when ya see the check. :D

How many bulls a year do you average that get hurt from fighting?

You should make enough profit to send H another goat or two special delivery.

why does H have those few goats marked with the yellow ribbons?? are they the ones who kick???

It all depends on the year. This year I don't think we lost any that were permanently hurt or killed. But something different is always limping as they continously riding each other. We have 2 this year that are in the private treaty pen due to injury, They are better now and dang good, but at catalog time, they were limping pretty good.

superior wasn't very pretty today for big stock. I just looked at his base wt. and I'd say he's having a hard time deciding what to do with his excess money for those grass type cattle. They were high.

I think I'd have let them go for that. :D

Friend of mine south of Per in Alberta sold 2 loads of 842# steers today for $1.32.

We did okay, but the sale was pretty ugly today. I would guess a quarter to a third of the lots that we heard sell were PO. We got 1.81 for them. It is the highest price we have ever gotten, but there was a lot a couple before ours that was base weight of 500 and they went for 1.96. I don't know why the $15 spread, other than the other lot looked a little more green than ours did.

So, instead of the dozen goats that I was going to send to H he will have to settle for 3. Could you kindly post your address so I can get them on their way to you H? I figured that I would send you fainting does. That way you could know what it is like to have females fainting at your feet. :D :D
