Tony Dean Outdoors Issues
How They Voted in 2005 SD Legislature

The Outdoor Voting Record of Your Legislator.

The bills and how your legislator voted

SB 122 An Act to restrict the entry of conservation officers onto certain private land without permission. http://legis.state.sd.us/sessions/2005/122.htm

Conservationists oppose this bill believing that Conservation Officers need freedom of movement to do their job.

SB 181 An Act to establish requirements and policies for the management and conservation of prairie dogs in national grasslands areas. This legislation is also opposed by conservationists. http://legis.state.sd.us/sessions/2005/181.htm

HB 1051 An Act to authorize the South Dakota Building Authority to provide funding to refurbish 3 fish hatcheries. http://legis.state.sd.us/sessions/2005/1051.htm We favor this legislation on the basis that fish hatcheries perform a necessary service in keeping our fisheries productive.

SB 190 An Act to prohibit the issuance of certain hunting and fishing licenses using the internet. http://legis.state.sd.us/sessions/2005/190.htm This legislation would move SD backward. Most sportsmen prefer to have the ability to buy their licenses direct from the Department of Game, Fish & Parks and oppose paying extra monies to funnel a portion of the proceeds to a licensing agent.

Note: The South Dakota House voted on just three of these measure while all four went before the SD Senate. Our scorecard is based on awarding 10 points to a legislator who voted our position on each issue. Thus, a perfect score for House lawmakers would be 30 pounts, while Senators could earn as many as 40 points.

Tony Dean just posted this "voting record" today. As expected, I am on the opposite side of every one of these issues.

I find his explanation of SB 122 especially intriguing: "Conservationists oppose this bill believing that Conservation Officers need freedom of movement to do their job."

Excuse me? Freedom of movement to do their job? What the heck is that supposed to mean? It sounds more like something requiring a laxative than what it is: license for GF&P to trespass on private property without the landowner's knowledge or consent.

We've come to expect these warped, anti-American views from this harebrained socialist, so I simply posted this for the entertainment value.

Oh, and I left in his spelling and grammar errors. You'd think he'd proof read his stuff before posting it on his website.

Excuse me? Freedom of movement to do their job? What the heck is that supposed to mean?

It means totalitarian tony would trade personal liberty to enhance law enforcement.

I wonder which political party would want to claim this antiag guy? If I was running for political office I sure would not want his public endorsement.
