Well I am sitting here listening to, and watching Sen. Sessions (R AL) and a congressman named Ryan, I think, from WI, also a Republican, criticizing the president's budget. But when asked what they would focus on or do differently, they haven't had an answer at, least no specific answer. C'mon guys be prepared to answer if you go before the press on C-Span.

BTW What happened to more transparency? House Speaker Boehner denied C-Span cameras on the house floor just like former speaker Pelosi did, is there no difference between the two in regards to transparency??

Not a lot of argument from me. As I have said before, if Independents could get a true Independent candidate and if all the people who claim to be Independents would vote their true conviction, instead of worrying about losing their vote, we just might get an Independent elected. Then, at least, we would just have to worry about one party being bought out. :(

Paul Ryan is who you are speaking of, I believe. To say they don't have a an answer is not totally true. they have had one for months.

Have you read his plan? If not here it is.

what do you think of the Obama administration tripling the deficit in the last couple of years (increases of about $1.1 Trillion/year) and then trying to pull the wool over the taxpayer's eyes by presenting a budget that would cut $1.1 Trillion over 10 years and calling it "spending cuts"

Now that's funny.

So I guess Sessions and Ryan both had memory lapses on any details while being interviewed on C-Span in front of the nation. Bad time to lose your memory.

they had a republican on MSNBC the other day,.. when pressed for an answer he said that they are not going to give the president a talking point..

and that every time they get specific the president and his staff twist it into a talking point to attack republicans..

he brought up how in 06 Bush laid out a plan to help SS out and put the insolvency off for several more decades, , and the democrats latched onto one small part and sank the whole deal..

as he said something to the effect of it gets a little tiring to keep playing games with our future when we have real problems today..

the democrats relentlessly attacked the republicans for not offering a counter to the health care plan..

at the same time, they shut the Republicans out of meetings,

refused to bring amendments to the floor,

and put forth a plan that they couldn't even answer simple questions for then and now look surprised when they find out what is in the flawed bill,

the dems are playing a game... and it appears as if the TEA Party/ Fiscal Conservatives are fed up like most Americas and are refusing to play the game.. and I don't blame them one bit..

if any of the journalists were willing to do a bit of research they would see many plans for cutting the budget..

the president's plan.. raise the budget to unsustainable levels, freeze it at those levels, .. throw in a couple trillion more in programs not in the budget, cut it all by a trillion and throw in a few trillion in tax increases.. and tell US how he saved the day..

3.7 trillion and sinking..

Meanwhile, the House Budget Committee, under the chairmanship of recent State of the Union response-deliverer Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), released a draft budget that would increase spending defense spending, but at lower amounts than that requested by the department and the White House, Military Times reported.

The Ryan plan also calls for a 2 percent reduction in veterans and military construction programs from the administration’s request. Overall, Military Times reported military and veterans programs would “do fairly well under Ryan’s plan.”

WASHINGTON (AP) Republicans will begin muscling deep budget cuts in domestic spending through the House today. They're eyeing some $61 billion in cuts to hundreds of programs for the remaining seven months of this federal fiscal year. AmeriCorps would be completely erased.

seems there are many plans if one looked..

and even a plan with few specifics are better then the one Obama made with even less specifics.
* Last year, Obama planned to spend $1.301 trillion on discretionary programs in FY2012, but now he plans to spend $1.340 trillion.
* Last year, Obama planned to spend $2,107 on entitlement programs in FY2012, but now he plans to spend $2,140.

Obama claimed in his "Budget Message" yesterday that "taking further steps toward reducing our long-term deficit has to be a priority," but looking at his actual budget numbers shows that isn't true.

Well Steve, since Ryan couldn't recall any of those specifics during the C-Span interview I watched, does this mean he has changed his mind on his original proposals? How hard would it have been to say that he supported some cuts in the military? Especially since Sec. Gates is already proposing some cuts. That would have at least gotten him "off the hook" to some degree with the reporters who kept asking him for some examples.

some good leaders have not mastered the art of a soundbite..

and know if they try to explain complex issues it will be taken out of context..

yes, he should have referred them to a website or ask them to read the proposal he has already presented for the specifics..

dealing with the liberal media is like dealing with a hostile adversary who has the ability to edit your interview and cut you to shreds with you own words..

oh, the media is a hostile adversary who has the ability to edit your interview and cut you to shreds with you own words?? :?

Conservatives are never off the hook with the libs and their cohorts the liberal media. They could not say a word or they could write a book and they are never off the hook with the liberal media and their mind numbed followers.

Well I'll just have to drop everything with this thought, Sean Hannity would be considered part of the media, I suppose, and I haven't heard him be very complimentary of many liberal politicians, not even if they are close to center on many issues.

Hannity is not the mainstream new media, but then you knew that.
