Tough day in our community

Please keep our community in your thoughts and prayers.

We lost two young men last night in a car accident, one who was a good friend. These two leave behind wives and five little kids between them. :cry2:  :cry2:

A third young man, who is a very close and good friend is in tough shape with a badly broken leg and maybe a broken back.

Today has been very sad, somber, and gray around here. Lots and lots of tears have been shed---and I'm sure that there are some really tough days ahead for all of us.

Thanks a lot for doing this. I know your thoughts and prayers will help the families and our community get through this tough time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We still aren't over burying our friend's son.

So sad, with families. We will keep your community in our prayers.

Thanks for sharing, and for having the faith that all of us on the Ranchers.net family will share this burden with you and will pray for your community.

I'm stunned & saddened, never heard anything about the tragedy till I read it here. Am very familiar with everyone involved and our prayers and thoughts are with the families and community. Sad, sad day. With heavy hearts your neighbors from the south send prayers. :(

Thank you all. We're still moping around with heavy hearts, but are finding some console in that the two who were killed are in a better place.

We haven't heard much about our injured friend, but are praying that he'll be ok.

I erred in not mentioning that there was also a young lady injured, who was the sister of one of the young men who was killed. I think she was not too badly hurt , as she's in Mobridge hospital. Our prayers are also with her.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear of the accident TTB.. These things are always tough.

Stopped in with a neighbor today and the father of a kid who worked for us, at least I think this is who he was talking about, a few weeks during harvest was killed just last night or the night before. Seems that he and his friends were snowmobiling on the canal near here and they decided to shoot a tube (Large culvert that gos under certain bridges). For some reason the water was higher than usual and well, he didn't clean the tube, broke his neck and died pretty much instantly. Sad for the family for sure.

Unfortunetly this canal sledding is a big thing that folks do as some have also had the misfortune of having the ice break under them as well. I know it is fun, and a local tradition of sorts but these stories would make me think again if I was one who was going to do it. Oh well, I digess.

TTB and Lazy Ace,
so sorry, this kind of stuff must be contagious, we just had this happen here. I sometimes wonder if the small community is a good thing or bad, things like this totally rock the community to it's core because of the size, but then, in a small community, everyone is there for you, you are not alone. Bless those family members and friends. The parents here are still in awe at the community support and the people helping them doing anything.

As true as that is sw, the opposite is just as true. There is much more joy in the community when a child is born or a young couple is wed or an old couple reach a milestone as a wedding annivesary or a soldier comes home or some heathen gets saved. Life in a small town is richer. My town is much bigger than when I was a kid. It's losing some of it's richness. To new comers it'd be a big town. Since I have been her all my life it's still somewhat cozy but as time goes on and new people move in , it's less so. I miss the smaller atmosphere even though it's tough at times. We'll be thinking of you TTB and Lazy Ace. We'll pray for the families as well. Tragic.
