Greetings
I live in alaska and would like to trade seafood for beef and elk. This is for my family's personal consumption. The seafood would be king salmon, halibut and sometimes shrimp and crab. The ranching life style is very much the same as ours. I would ship nothing but premium seafood and would expect the same. I grew up on ranches in oregon, nevada and british columbia. thanks, Mike

We have a friend who is a deep sea fishing guide in California. He kept saying he wanted to do this sort of thing, but nothing ever panned out. We would still be interested as we both like good seafood. There are a couple of restaraunts here that serve fresh seafood, but they have it flown in daily. It's literally only a little over 24 hours from boat to plate. It is EXPENSIVE though. We consider it a real treat when we can go out and have good seafood. About 95% of our meals are home raised anymore. Between canning our own vegetables and feeding out our own beef and pork we eat pretty good. The Hostile Native got some chickens this year and having fresh eggs is really nice. It wont be too much longer and we wont be buying chicken meat anymore either.

Back to trading though, we would be interested and possibly even in a longterm type thing too. The only thing that would be a holdup is the cost of shipping. Im afraid that might throw a wrench in the gears. Would you want to do it on a lb for lb basis or have set prices? We eat homegrown beef for the majority of our meals but a little variety would be kind of nice. If you have any ideas about how to make it work let me know. We are scheduled to take a beef to the processor right after the first of the year.

Have a good day.

What about shipping to Alberta and vice versa?

I'd love to get my hands on some seafood to go along with my Alberta beef.

psst, I shouldn't say this, but it's the best.

unfortunately the best scenario is to have the access to Alaska Airlines. The price for air freight seems to be ok. I'm looking for a long term type deal.
I'm a easy going guy so other type of foods could possibly work out. I thought this might be a good opportunity to give someone the taste of Alaska in exchange for a taste of good beef or game maybe even some jarred type stuff. I supply the surf if you supply the turf
