TSA searches valet-parked cars at airport

But not those in the garage. Okay, I can understand the logic they use to search the valet-parked car....it's parked very near the main airport operations while the others are a greater distance away.

But this is the part that stood out:

Iacuzza's car was inspected by valet attendants on orders from the TSA. We asked, “You're required, they tell you, you have to search the car?” Valet Parking Attendant Frank Dettorre said, “I have to do it.”

WTF? Valet attendants doing the work of the TSA? What kind of a training does the average valet attendant have to id a bomb hidden in a car?

True government leadership, no doubt.

Considering the TSA failure rate of detection,..

a “recent” report which cites a 70 percent failure rate for TSA to detect guns and knives passing through airport checkpoints.

ALTHOUGH THE TSA'S PANTS-BOMB DETECTION RATE LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED.

The secret inspector, a member of the TSA's special operations team, had a mock improvised explosive device in his pants when he passed through a magnetometer in Terminal B with no disruption and even survived a pat-down undetected, the report said.

Well, remember, this is a work in progress, people. They've only been at this for twelve years. And it's not like things aren't improving. Back in 2006, investigators from another agency tested security at 21 airports, also by trying to smuggle bombs and bomb parts through checkpoints. The TSA didn't find any of those, either, but you have to admit that 0-3 is much better than 0-21. Like, seven times better.

So, a success rate of 25 percent, or if you exclude the one that had obvious wires sticking out of it, which seems reasonable, approximately zero percent.

With a 70% to 100% failure rate.. can the valets be any worse?

You make a valid argument Steve. Perhaps a $100 award should be offered for every bomb the valet attendants find? That couldn't possibly cost more than all those TSA personnel standing around harrassing tea party types.

Please tell me that it's not true that the TSA gives special "hands-off" treatment to women wearing those things. Please.

Luckily, Muslim terrorists have no history of using female suicide bombers or hiding explosives in their underwear.

Here’s how Janet Napolitano answered when a reporter asked whether Muslim women would be exempt:

Napolitano’s key quote from the video:

Adjustments will be made where they need to be made. With respect to that particular issue [the sensitivities of Muslim women], I think there will be more to come.

see no exemption or special policy.,.. just an adjustment and more to come to pander to their sensitivities..
