There should be a law against texting while operating a horse.

Afewdriftsfellintoplace.jpg

A few drifts fell into place. There was a good six inches of snow on the level this morning.

MustbeHalloweenThecalfissoscared.jpg

Must be Halloween. This calf is scared of the masked marauder enough that the hair is standing up on the back of her neck.

Oh, this neck warmer is nice, Dad. Don't you wish you had one?

This cow is fourteen years old and still raised a pretty good heifer calf.

There is a chinook wind here at the moment, too. The temperature reads 38 degrees, which is warmer than it was all day.

And what happened to Wednesday and Thursday?

Sure hate to see that snow  But the stock and people look to be handling it pretty well. We got an inch and a half of rain out of that storm. A slice of that cake with some ice cream would sure taste good about now :D

Cute cake in the making :D . Does Sunflower ever compete with her cakes, or watch those cake decorating competition shows?

I agree with the rest, your last pics look a bit chilly. It has been winter here too.

Hey Soapweed, I was wondering if you have to pay taxes on your lakes. I'm sure you do but at what rate? None of my business? That's OK too.

you should come to the much warmer north. Nice pics and cool cake. The solution to texting and riding is to buy more unbroke horses.

I've seen ball caps worn backwards but that's the first time I've seen
a scotch cap worn backwards. I think Kosmo knows how to keep warm...
heck with being tough, warmer is better!!!!!!!!

That snow does look cold. Warmer here this morning than it's been
for several days, but no snow on the ground.
