U.S. Money Worth More For Scrap Metal

Sold a few hundred pounds of copper last week. Got to thinking.

It takes approx 200 pennies to make a lb. Value at the bank = $2.00.

If melted down those same pennies would bring around $3.60 at the scrap yard.

When our money is worth more for scrap than it is at the bank, something is way out of kilter.

That would be old pennies and nickles,

the new copper clad, zinc pennies have very little copper in them.. and are worth a little less then a penny

in other words our new money ain't worth what it used to be..
