U.S. troops effective

Despite Disagreeable's claims to the contrary, U.S. troops have been effective against the insurgents. It's not peaceful over there, and Americans are dying, but isn't it better to have hope rather than give up?

My Marine son sends me reports by marines and soldiers on the ground in Iraq. Some of these are realistic and show that the troops there are doing a great job.

One says that the estimate of insurgents killed runs from 45-50,000. This is not reported and, of course, would lead to "body count" questions like there was in 'Nam.

Our losses of 2000+ are tragic, but matter only in a country that values its people. That is what they are fighting for.
