According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi

If this is true, Buckwheat just lost the election.
An American Ambassador and three American security guards were butchered, anti-American riots broke out across the Middle East, a U.S. Embassy both before and after being stormed issued apologies for the exercise of our constitutional rights, our Secretary of State practically prostrated herself, the President had a good night’s sleep through it all and then went to Vegas for a fundraiser, and Mitt Romney commented intelligently on the absurdity of it all.

So on whom did the media collectively and in unison lash out? Mitt Romney.

Kirsten Powers had it 100% correct, the media went insane, stark raving lunatic mad (via Gateway Pundit):

With each passing hour the correctness of Romney’s statements, and dereliction of duty of our media, becomes more clear.

Via Drudge, this story from The Independent, Exclusive: America ‘was warned of embassy attack but did nothing’:

The killings of the US ambassador to Libya and three of his staff were likely to have been the result of a serious and continuing security breach, The Independent can reveal….

The US administration is now facing a crisis in Libya. Sensitive documents have gone missing from the consulate in Benghazi and the supposedly secret location of the “safe house” in the city, where the staff had retreated, came under sustained mortar attack. Other such refuges across the country are no longer deemed “safe”.

Some of the missing papers from the consulate are said to list names of Libyans who are working with Americans, putting them potentially at risk from extremist groups, while some of the other documents are said to relate to oil contracts.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and “lockdown”, under which movement is severely restricted.

The U.S. media should be all over the failure to protect our diplomats in the Middle East on September 11 of all days. Yet all we received was collusion at Romney’s press conference and snide high-fiving at how successful they were at keeping the focus off of Obama’s failures.

Our position in the Middle East never has been as bad as it is today, at least not in my lifetime. The threat to Israel never has been greater.

And our media never has been as complicit as it is now.

I'm not that smart, but I called this "arab spring" pretty close to how is has gone so far.

Even I, would not give terrorists weapons to overthrow a "dictator", without securing my embassy, and staff, from those same terrorists.

The guy you voted President, TSR, is stupid. don't vote for him again, or we'll consider you as stupid as he is.

the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before

without suggesting a specific timeline.. or talking specifics..

I would reckon the US military could have a fully functioning defensible base about any where in the world in 48 hours.. or less

let alone getting a rapid response team in.. had they been alerted.

Benghazi is a coastal city..

Surely they have info the avg. american doesn't.

Almost three weeks after accepting his party's nomination for President, Mr. Romney was yet to receive an intelligence briefing.

Given the gravity of issues facing a prospective commander-in-chief, it has become customary for each party's nominee to receive regular intelligence updates during the run-up to the fall election. In 2008, then-Senator Barack Obama received his first briefing just five days after accepting the Democratic nomination.

So why hasn't Mitt Romney received the same courtesy? According to a spokesman for the Director of National Intelligence, it's a matter of "logistics."

As the nominee, Romney should receive classified briefings on U.S. intelligence, but administration officials said that hasn't been arranged yet.

I guess if it isn't important to Obama to attend the daily briefings.,, ,.. then why "extend the courtesy" to the other side?

I guess Biden was wrong about obama when he said he was clean.

obama has to be the dirtiest of anyone in DC, Chicago, or wherever he may roam
