United 93

I am not one to watch movies very much, but I noticed that the movie United 93 was on PPV last nite, so we watched it. Of course I knew the ending :( before the movie started, but I had a sick feeling all the way through the movie, and found myself going through many emotions during the movie. This was a very, very well done movie, with no apparent agenda that I could see, and I think it should be mandatory that we all watch it on 9/11, every year. I did really look forward to watching this movie, but when it was over, it re-ran on several channels at the same time, but I had no desire to view it again so soon. And it kept me awake most of the night, as it was so powerful.

Thinking about it after the movie ended, several facts were apparent to me. (I am putting this on coffee shop for discussion, and not looking for arguments, as we should all agree that we cannot ignore the threat from radical Muslims.)

It is impossible to reason with a culture that wants to kill us just because we do not subscribe to their religion.

Religion means more than life itself to a radical Muslim.

They will kill us if we show weakness.

Radical Muslims believe that intimidation (fear) is how they will wreak havoc on the US, and other countries. (Kicking them in the ass is the only language they understand.)

Most people can be heroic if the situation arises for them to be. (LET'S ROLL!)

They are also patriots in the same situation.

I have a first cousin, who lives near here, that has two of her sons in the Nat. Guard who will be heading to Afganistan very soon. And two other brothers from our same hometown are also leaving for Afganistan at the same time. I hope they stay safe.

I also want to thank sw's man, and others mentioned here, who are willing to volunteer so the rest of us can stay safe.

Go watch United 93 if you have the opportunity. It will awaken a lot of feelings from 9/11/01.

I just finished reading "Inside The Kingdom, My Life In Saudia Arabia" by Carmen Bin Ladin. It is about her life as a husband of Yeslam Bin Ladin. It is apparent that the Saudi government, society and religion are all corrupt.

We had the opportunity to watch United 93 and it gives you a sick feeling all the way through the movie as you know what actually happened. If only there had been an air marshall on board. I would recommend the movie.

I agree with you Tap and MR, I have already watched it twice, you know the ending but you watch anyway with that sick feeling the whole time. In sw's mans last email, he said if we could just do what we know how to do without all of the politcially correct BS, this would be over in no time. When we have to tip toe around and not offend anyone, while they are hiding in their dresses waiting to cut us down, and we have to be polite instead of "detaining them for questioning" or blowing their butt to Allah. He said they caught a guy two days ago with thousands of rounds of ammo and IED makings in his car. They thought they would make an example of him, blew up his car twice just for fun.

I also agree. Haven't seen the movie but will definately watch it if it comes on. Caleb said about the same thing sw's man said. He said we (the military over there) have to obey too many rules and they don't have to obey any. His example was they couldn't do anything if they see someone out at night (his missions are all done at night), unless they actually see them with a bomb...well what else are they doing out there at night :???:

I had posted a few weeks back under political bull about watching this movie and the one similar to it on A&E!! What I got was alot of FLACK!! I watched the movie NOT TO MAKE HOLLYWOOD MONEY, but to remind myself of the heroes on board this one plane!! It only takes a few brave people to stand up for what they believe in and make a world of difference!!

sw---let your man know that the and all of the other coalition forces are in my prayers each day!!!!
