Urgent question about Micotil

You may have sudden and unexpected loss of all bladder control in public if you get Micotil in your eyes or mouth. Come on, sometimes you have to make light of even a serious situation.

We also use micotil for foot rot and also as the last ditch effort to get something to live.

It is a very dangerous drug that does induce heart attacks if injected. Last year a local guy just got stuck with a needle that had held micotil and they took him to the er where the doctor promptly put him in the ICU to monitor his vitals. He turned out ok.

However, it is the best drug for laryngitis (aka diptheria). There's not much else that we have found that will fix it as easily. We won't use Micotil unless the animal is in the headgate. It's not a drug to take to the pasture for a wrestling match.

There's lots of dangerous drugs out there that we need to be aware of. Lutalyse is another one. It doesn't just cause cows to abort, it can do it to people too. It can also trigger asthma attacks. This is just by getting it on your skin, not by injecting.

Rompun, same thing. Respiratory arrest, and that can be from spraying it in your face like what happened with the Micotil. Bottom line is to read the label, quiz your vet about dangers and warnings, and use the drugs properly.

Glad it turned out OK. How's the calf?

He survived, I let him go back out to the herd after the Micotil episode. Brought another one up to replace him, treated him with Nuflor. He came along fine, too, and I let him go this morning.
