The USDA officials who let this MBM be spread everywhere should be fired. They should also have their pensions subject to private action against them in a civil trial. The packers who have been selling it because, as sh claims, it is "efficient", should pay for all the damages of bse in the population.

What kind of idiots do we have in D.C.?

Shouldn't the feed manufacturer that used the MBM in cattle feed instead of chicken and pig feed also bear the responiblity? How about the Producer that fed chicken litter back to his cattle shouldn't he bear some responiblitiy also? Why do you feel the need to blame one sector when all sectors knew of the dangers and none of them stopped?

The original source needs to be held accountable. They have not been in any way. You are right that the USDA has not done its job in protecting the food supply. They should all be handed their pink slips. Instead they get promoted. Better the companies who are influencing their decisions pay their paycheck instead of the public. There needs to be some accountability and there is not.

The threat of any kind of danger from the feeding of chicken litter was never told to the farmers in the beginning. The USDA even put out literature on its benefits. I don't think we need to blame the producers here, tam. This was an inside job and the producers knew nothing about it.

Big feed yards, maybe.
