"U.S. military forces and Arab partner nations targeted 12 ISIS-controlled modular oil refineries in eastern Syria on Wednesday, officials said. Coalition forces also took out one vehicle linked to ISIS in the strikes, which involved Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. "

Why the hell would they bomb them. Why not capture them and move them to North Dakota.

it would be moving them across the border... and getting approval for that might take a few decades...

Silly me i forgot about State Department approval.

Maybe Canada should pick up a couple and hook them to our end of the XL and just sell you guys gasoline. :D

Like Libya, the Syrian government has been fighting terrorists for years. Wouldn't it be the intelligent thing to do to keep the refineries intact and allow Syria the revenue to continue fighting Muslim extremists?

But this isn't really about decimating the already decimated...is it?

I wonder what the revenues of these modular refineries are, compared to the environmentally damaging refineries.

I thought environmental damage was determined by the burning of fossil fuels...no matter what size refinery produced the finished product.

"Barry's war for oil"

“Officials said the strikes wouldn’t target fixed oil fields, a precaution intended to minimize the potential for environmental damage,” The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. “The U.S. instead targeted small capacity mobile refineries used by Islamic State around northeastern Raqqa province and other locations in eastern Syria, officials said.”

We should just encourage the Syrians to set up their own version of the EPA. No need to waste any bombs on modular refineries.
