Personally, I think we have to chalk this up to the Doctrine of Sht Happens. It will be unfortunate if it cause problems for us with an ally in Afghanistan. We sure don't need to go it alone there.
It's essential that we have help there. It doesn't matter who is President, Afghanistan is a challenge that I'm not so sure we're up to by ourselves.
Anyone who has ever studied any of the history of war in Afghanistan over thousands of years would have to admit that it's far from a sure thing. And while we might eventually control the cities, the goatherders in the outlying areas are more than capable of handing us our ass and laughing at us when we run back home after spending a fortune in blood and treasure.

We are lucky to have WhiteWing among us. He's so wise.

As opposed to the way we're winning hearts and minds now?
This from 8 May 2009. I can list many more if you'd like.

Shouting "Death to America" and "Death to the Government", thousands of Afghan villagers hurled stones at police yesterday as they vented their fury at American air strikes that local officials claim killed 147 civilians.
The riot started when people from three villages struck by US bombers in the early hours of Tuesday, brought 15 newly-discovered bodies in a truck to the house of the provincial governor.

Hypocrite, you have definitely outdone yourself.

I really do not care if the others can't see it, you're giving yourself away quickly. Couldn't leave well enough alone could you, had to post hyperbole and now the same goofy photos as your doppelganger.

What in the world am I "giving away", reader. Please, do tell. And what hyperbole? I said what I believe about the current situation in Afghanistan. Perhaps I'm not allowed an opinion here?
The photo I posted was in direct response to another poster basically saying they think I'm a liar and that I'm really someone I'm not. Someone who would say such a thing, without any proof and so soon after I appeared here, just might need a tin foil hat IMHO.
Are you a member of the group who now seems to believe that I'm not who I say I am? Be honest.

I guess they give you Labor Day weekend off in Venezuela?!
Need to brush up on your Spanish by the way. Pueblo is the wrong word and the natives are called Venezuelanos not Venezuelas. Have some very good friends from that part of the world. Let me know where your ranch is, and I'll have them drop by for a visit. Will Kiki be there? She's cute.

assuming that a poster is posting specific articles/information for specific reasons is dangerous, IMHO.

How about we do this then reader since you obviously don't believe I live and ranch in Venezuela. If I can prove I do live and ranch here, you'll leave the ranching forum forever. If I can't prove I live and ranch here, I'll leave forever. Deal? Something tells me you won't accept the offer.
As for the luxury of being able to post these last few days, it's just that, a luxury. I'm usually at the ranch for anywhere from 4 to 10 days at a time without internet connection. Yeah, there's a cyber in the pueblo, but it's so slow and open only during the day that I can't very well use it. The reason I'm here for so long this time is that we're not receiving any rainfall at the ranch these days so we're not planting. When planting, I really need to be there.
And no, Kika won't be there, she lives on Margarita Island as I noted in response to someone's question. If your friends are already in Venezuela, have them give me a call (I can PM you my cell number to pass along to them). I would love to entertain them any time they'd like to visit. My Spanish isn't great, but I get by. Short of typing on the internet, I go months without speaking English.
I didn't really need to answer any of these questions from you, did I? But I've got nothing to hide and quite frankly, can't understand why you guys have pounced on me since I got her.
But rest assured, I'm gonna stay, reader. On that you can count.

I think that's the same deal Hypocrite offered Badaxe sometime back, isn't it? Odd how Hypocrite and Whitewing mesh so perfectly...they're like two peas in a pod...how cute.

Cool beans WW. I'm honored and amazed that you care about me so much already that you are willing to meet my Venezuelan friends and that you are so passionate about your integrity that you are betting me my staying on Ranchers Net about your identity. Wow. But you're very insightful. I won't be taking up your dare. I don't care one way or the other about you, other than as an amusement. I'm not so passionate about this as youI'll stay on Ranchers if it suits me and leave if I feel like it. And you of course can do the same. How wonderful that you have "cyber" in your pueblito of 10,000.
Tell me was Kika a girlfriend or are you still grieving for your lost spouse? And how did you retire so early in life? So many wonderful things in your life -- Louisiana, travels up in Manitoba and in the Montana - Canadian border area, Venezuela, oil business, serious ranching, Socialism. Amazing rich life you are living and have lived.
