that is what I thought...a bunch are 2.0 or less, so maybe they are not noticable, but it freaked me out....Yellow Stone looks a bit endangered!

I think it's been going on for ages.......we just were dumb and happy not knowing!

There is going to be a monitoring site built on our ranch next summer, to be operational in 2010. Each site is monitored for a specific time period, covering the earth in a sort of wave movement (like at a ball game???) running from west to east, as I understand it.

A geological physicist told us they are learning much about the structure of the center of the earth from those monitors, as well as about earthquakes and other disturbances from underground. He seemed quite excited about the project, as are the students from SD SMT.

The structure is like a piece of a concrete culvert about 6' across, by 6' to 8' long set vertically in the ground on a concrete base. It will house the monitoring equipment, including a cell phone powered by the sun which will send the signals and, if I recall correctly, give 'orders' to the equipment. After the designated time here, the equipment will be moved to another site. Think the operation time is less than 2 years. at each site.
