looking at a family trip this summer...would like to go somewhere to pan for gold. I think it would be a fun deal.

looks like South Dakota, Col. or Wyo would be close for us....wondering if any of you have done this, or have a good place to try it out....

I think the kids would get a big kick out of it

You could go to Gcreek's and put up his hay. Isn't hay referred to as green gold anywhere else?

Rushmore Cave up near Keystone is awesome to see, and I can't remember the name of the place, but you can pan for gold in Keystone..when we took our country school kids up there, they loved the caves..the panning for gold..was ok...there's so much to see and do in the Black Hills of SD...you won't be disappointed! Have fun!

I agree whole heartedly. If you decide to travel to the Black Hills from Kansas, you'll drive through the heart of the Nebraska Sand Hills. Jassy and Soapweed have done a fantastic job of photographing ranch life in the Sand Hills. You would see it for yourself on this trip. The gold you are searching for might come in an unexpected form.

Medora is worth the trip, but leave out the Pitchfork BBQ. It
just isn't worth what it cost. It isn't even worth half what it cost.
