Well the wife and I were talking the other night and we haven't been on a vacation since we been married (14 years). So this summer we are looking to go to Big Bend in west Texas and to New Mexico. The kids want to see the Mountains and the big hole in the ground (Carlsbad New Mexico). It's been 20-30 years since I have been to either one so it will be all new to me again. Does anyone know what else is cool to see for the kidos?

I can't believe I am going on a vacation. I guess I will die next.

P.S. I know we don't really have mountains in Texas, but don't tell the kids.

Yes we do......8000 ft plus is a mountain...don't bleave me...try climbin it. :D

If your goin that direction...why not stop and visit the Caverns of Sonora.

They are live caverns....I've never got to go.....but have been told that the colors in there is unbelievable.

On your way back from Carlsbad...make a stop at the Monahans Sandhills State Park. It's our own lil slice of the Sahara.

While your in the Big Bend area....stop in at McDonald's Observatory in Ft. Davis

....and if you have time....visit Marfa and see if you can see the Marfa Lights at night.

And if your hot and wanna cool off stop in Balmorhea State Park. Has the worlds largest spring fed swimming pool.
