value of aged equipment

My husband drives a 84 cabover and loves it... It's paid for and he can haul more grain than the others whitch makes it more profitable... Yeah they may blow his doors off pulling the Niobrara hills, but so what...
We have a 72 in the shed with perfect paint that is as dependable as any new one... Ours are well maintained so I guess parts arn't a big deal. I guess the biggest thing is tires.. But we have our own pit crew here and we can change a tire in 45 minutes...

when i first started driving truck i learned in a cabover. when i went to a conventional it was hard for me to used to having that big old hood way out in front. but it has been so long now that i don't feel comfortable without that big hood in front of me. now days the thing that i hate the most about cabovers is climbing in and out of the cab.

Your getting old Justin.

I haul hay with a 1980 cab over, drove the same truck for 25 years. It's rough and noisy but it's payed for and runs great. I drove my sons Peterbilt about 60 miles the other night to meet him so he could save some time and miles and it was strange driving with that big hood out front. The truck sure drove nice and since it has about 200 more horse power once it's was in high great i put it on cruise control and sat back and enjoyed the ride.
:D

Is the trailer air ride or spring? Air ride trailer are nice driving with all are rough road we have here in Colorado. We went together with my uncle on a grain trailer as we had the truck but no trailer. It was a 1982 tempte in ok condition, it needed paint and some odd and end things. So we painted they trailer and had to put new brakes and drums slack adjusters etc. on it. Last year at wheat harvest a guy offered him 16,000 for the trailer and he only paid 5,000 for the trailer. Around here a good trailer like that could bring 15-20,000 damm good price. I have a KW 600 with a 13 spd tranny and I pull a 48 ft flat trailer when I haul hay and have plenty of power and good fuel mileage.

Getting out of the Pete I hooked the clip on my knife and broke it off. When i climb up in the Mack CO I hit the second step and in. It is strange getting in the passenger side when my son drives.
