Ok, I'm not trying to be mean, disrespectful hurtful or make any sence, I just have to say it.

I'm a teeneager. I'm not an adult. I dont want to do someone else's work. I want to do mine, help dad with his, and have fun. Thats my job. I'M 15 NOT 25!!! I dont want to have to do everyone else's f$%^&*g work! If you have land, come the #$%^ our and help us if you want the crop! During seeding you come out... once? And it was how to see how it was going??!! You do nothing yet you have the balls to tell me to START doing something?

Let me tell you what. I gave up a vacation this summer. I gave up having my dad come to see me show off what I worked hard for all year long. When we asked if you could help for ONE DAY so dad could take it off to watch me, you said, "No, I have other plans" and hung up. When we asked if you could come feed cattle while we go on a THREE DAY fishing trip, you told us you couldn't because you were going to your big cabin at the lake to fish in your big brand new boat that you pull with a three year old diesel truck an hour from here.

I am tired of working so you can have your land and when we ask for a small favour, we gat a fig #$%^&*( no. Every Time. Now I am giving up my childhood so you can do all of that, and you still tell me to grow up, start doing somethign around the farm to help out a bit

Maybe you should grow up, do a little to help out on the farm.

Thanks a lot

dude, i know exactly how you feel. im only 15 but i feel like i have responsiblities that even 51 year olds dont have. people telling you what to do when they have nothing to do with it is the sh!ts. i also gave up a summer vacation. nobody would help a guy out. your dad is prolly feeling the same way even if he is an adult. your a tuff kid, hopefully things will work out.

Some folks expect too much, whether you are a kid or not.

Case in point, a good friend of mine has BIG problems with his shoulder.
In fact, he is going to get it operated on...FINALLY. His neighbor called him because he needed some calves doctored and he is going to be gone.
Of course, my friend is going over to doctor this man's calves...why he didn't say "I'm LAID UP" is beyond me. But for someone to have the gall to ask and then be gone...just takes the cake IMO.

I feel for ya, ACS and I don't have an answer. It is just one of those things that make life NOT FAIR.

It doesn't get much better the older you get..... no matter what you always have to do things in life that you don't want to do or things that aren't your responsibility but are someone elses. Whether you work for yourself or someone else. If you work for yourself then you might have to do things that your employees fail to do and if you work for someone else their opinion most often is that I pay you to work for me and if I want you take on more tasks that aren't part of your job you are fully expected to do them.

I work for a family owned business right now running the office at a gravel quarry.... I get to do stuff all the time dealing with the owners show cattle, ag booster club, his sons homework and all kinds of stuff that are not part of my "job" but since he signs my paycheck I am forced to bite my tongue and do the work.

I know it sucks but it is a fact of life..... I feel that by doing what I can and trying to please the boss hopefully it will lead to bigger and better things. Sometimes people like to use adversity to test your determination and will and then other times they are just being an @$$.

Hey,

I am assuming this is not volunteer work?

There are things I count dear to to me I have missed because of honoring my word that i would work when taking a job.....That is part of life....

Jobs differ and maybe the lesson is to ask more questions upfront..... Sounds to me like tis guy hired you because he felt you could handle it and it would free him to do the things he enjoys...Likely the big boat and cabin took some sacrifices ofthings dear to him to get....

Doesn't matter...What does matter is the worst thing you can start doing in any job is deciding the responsibilities of others, including the owners. it is ok to decide if a job fits you, but do it in the context of remembering what you committed to...Looking and deciding the merts of others tends to do nothing but create problems,

If he hired you, then how is it "Thier work" and not yours? I am confused? If it is volunteer helping nieghbor or family and you get nothing including a place to stay.....that is different...

it may not seem like it, but later on the hard work will benefit you in shaping who you become....
