Has anyone ever heard of Cold River Vodka? I was watching the History Channel and they had a show about them. It looks like pretty good Vodka, but it sucks they don't sell it in Texas yet. A Texas Polack has to have his Vodka and beer.

Here is the link.

Tomorrow is payday, maybe I'll pick up a bottle, not sure why I haven't tried it yet, heard good things about them.

They're located in my county about 30 minutes away, same town as LL Bean.

I'll have to check with my dad about shipping booze, he owns a UPS Store franchise.

Speaking of L.L. Bean, I've got a wonderful idea for an advertising song for them. George Hamilton the Fourth had a hit song of Abilene, with these lyrics:

Abilene, Abilene
Prettiest town I ever seen.
Folks down there don't treat you mean
In Abilene, my Abilene.

I sit alone most every night
Watch them trains roll out of sight
Wish that they were carryin' me
To Abilene, my Abilene.

Crowded city, ain't nothin' free
Nothin' in this town for me
Wish to God that I could be
In Abilene, my Abilene.

How I wish that train would come
Take me back where I come from.
Take me where I want to be
In Abilene, my Abilene.

Rotgut whiskey numbs the brain
If I stay here I'll go insane.
Think I need a change of scene
To Abilene, my Abilene.

Outside my window cold rain falls,
Sit here starin' at the walls;
If I was home, I'd be serene
In Abilene, my Abilene

I always thought the advertising song could go something like:

L.L. Bean, L.L. Bean,
Best sporting store you've ever seen.
The clerks in there don't treat you mean
In L.L. Bean, sweet L.L. Bean.......

and it could go on from there.
 :)

Texas does not have a good liquor selection. I went down to visit my mother last month and got downright parched in my search for a decent Canadian Whisky. When I got home I had to turn around and go to Oklahoma for a funeral. I took my canteen full of Pendleton on that trip. I learned my lesson.

I've always considered a bloody mary a gender drink (I'm the wrong gender) 8)
The only thing a beer chases is tequila! :drink:
And yes, it took a lot of beer this week, so I had to have velvet & water when the barley & hops disappeared!
