VP Biden always good for a laugh

Unfortunately, he is Obama's gun control point man and what he is suggesting is not at all safe and, I could be off base here, illegal in some places.

Like in the other thread- a short barreled 18" or more double barrel shotgun has always been what I recommended to people-- especially those that had not grown up with a lifetime shooting history around firearms/pistols...

They need to listen to Joe -- he's putting out the best info... The best home defense gun is a double barrel coach gun- in either 20 or 12 gauge depending on who is using it- and how petite the women of the house are...I often prefer the 20 gauge because often the whole family enjoys shooting it more- and the more you shoot and get familiar with the gun, the more dangerous you are to the bad guy...

Easier to learn how to use than a pistol or most semiauto rifles - from first sight they demand a lot more respect than some little pea shooter handgun- still likely to get a good hit in stressful conditions- and if using the right ammo, won't go penetrating 2-3 walls and doors and killing some of your family in another room.....

And there are hundreds available- used or new- at a price that won't come close to costing as much as most the gung ho Chuck Norris wannabe's spend on their supply of clips and attachments to make their assault weapon system...

The only thing I'd add to this would be a sling- and a shell holder on the stock- and you have a perfect defense gun imo...

Joe is a complete joke.

Just walk out on the back balcony and fire a couple of rounds?

Psssst! Hey Joe! If you do that, you're out of ammo to defend yourself! What's a woman going to do? Reach down in her nighties to grab two more shells?

And how's she supposed to put that shotgun in her purse when she goes out & about?

He's digging his stupidity hole bigger and bigger.

so shotguns are more effective, and lethal, than "assault rifles".

I wonder why they want to ban assault rifles...

thanks biden and OT, for proving the "right's" position.

You and Biden are living proof that Darwin was wrong.

Others have already covered the relevant points. Plus women can't really tell the difference between a assailant and a pizza delivery boy can they? I mean, just because someone is trying to get in doesn't mean they intend them any harm. At least in Colorado.

Biden is much like our compadre here, OT. Making up crap to spew.

When was the last time that Joe Biden didn't have a security detail at his residence? A long, long time ago, that's when.

So if Joe and his wife have had security guards at their home, why would Joe instruct his wife on protecting herself with a double barreled shotgun?

Does he think we are stupid?

Yes but, it is the most intelligent thing the man has ever said. I too vote for a scatter gun for home defense. But I wouldn't empty the thing in the air.

He did say something positive about gun ownership, had a recommendation, and is apparently okay with people owning guns. I bet he wishes he could take that part back now.

His second or third shot deer hunting statement put him right back on the idiot stand. One shot, dead deer. City yuppies come down to the deer leases and it sounds like the fourth of July. Biden fits right in with them.

I might add that buckshot, or birdshot, cannot be traced back to the weapon that fired them because they never come in contact with the shotgun. Although the hulls might be traced forensically with the extractor & firing pin marks left on it.

Might be a preferred weapon of some criminals because of this?

The guy that shot 3-4 people in California the other day used a shotgun.
