Wake up call

I have this posted on Political Bull, but I thought more people would see it here. However, I encourage you all to take a look at stevec's treasonist remarks under that topic. I am outraged by it.

Well worth the 2 minutes it takes to read this, in fact everyone in this country should read this...... Some should read it a 1/2 dozen times...
The lady who wrote this letter is Pam Foster of Pamela Foster and Associates in Atlanta. She's been in business since 1980 doing interior design and home planning. She recently wrote the following letter to a family member serving in Iraq . Check it out!

WHAT'S ALL OF THE FUSS?
"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children not die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day? And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don't. I don't care at all.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime In Saudi Arabia.
I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling, slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range Of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave Marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.
When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college hazing incident, rest assured that I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank that I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts that I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and ---- you got it, I DON'T CARE!
If you agree with this view point, pass this on to all your e-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great country.

Ya know, I think this is the kind of thing that causes most of our problems in this world. The deliberate lack of respect for other people and their beliefs.

We are not at war with Islam.
We are at war with terrorists, who happen to claim to be Muslem. But to start lumping them all together so we can hate them only makes us look like bigots. And by default makes moderate people (Muslems) feel they must be more extreme to stand up for themselves.

It's a vicious cycle, and the attitude of this author is, in large part, what fuels that cycle. :(

Well, HMW (High and Mighty Wife) did you read stevec's post under Political Bull? The one where he says "Soldiers are suckers." (Well, there is no chance of reading it now, because someone deleted it.)

What do you think of that little tidbit?

I think he deserves to be banned from this site for treason.

You can think whatever you want and I am sure you will find a reason
to side with him. You two make me ill.

I think all his posts have been deleted.

Thank you Macon!!

However, if you want to see what upset me, go to "Medal of Honor" under Political Bull and read Red Robins reply. He saved stevec's post. It was treasonous, IMO. And apparently Macon didn't like it either.

My... You're jumping to a few conclusions.

I didn't read it either. Though given how many friends and family members I have who are soldiers, it's a safe bet I won't be putting them down anytime soon.

BTW, be as nasty to me as makes you feel good. But I won't resort to name calling in return. :(

I have to agree with you on this point, HMW. Although the last few days I have been given cause to worry more about what we are up against here. Have you seen in the news the story about the muslim in Afghanistan that converted to Christianity? It turns out this is a crime punishable by death under Afghan law. What really bothered me was the reporter in the streets of Kabul asking groups of people (in the supposed most moderate city in the country) if they thought this man should die. Everyone was very emphatic; he must die. That really bothered (bothers) me that a country that thousands of my countrymen are fighting and dying to give freedom to so deeply believe that Christians must die. These people are nothing like us, as much as we would like to believe that they are. We can lead them to the water, but they will not drink.
I don't know what the solution is, but I think a lot more brave Canadian soldiers are going to die and I hope it's for something lasting and positive. All we can do now is support them all the way.

Its a shame stevec would be banned for his opinion. The first amendment its self is disrespected here.I guess some in power here feel it is their duty to decided what is written..What the world needs now is more monitors, like i need a hole in my head..Maybe to those that dont tow the site line, should listen to the monitors and their ass kissers true words of wisdom like lalalalalalala..
