A tribe of South American Indians had learned how to boil their frogs, of which they had an abundant supply. The Indian chef (no pun intended) would pop a king-sized Frog into a pot of water, which was then heated up on the traditional tribal barbecue. For reasons to do with a frog’s physiology, the frog just got more and more comfortable as the water warmed up. Eventually the hapless creature was, well, I can’t put it less cruelly, boiled.

What roll did Bush play in repealing the Glass Steagall act? When was it that he was so worried about poor people who could not afford a home getting to buy one?

You really are a broken record of ignorant facts aren't you? Considering that Clinton allowed the merger of them Giant oil companies then allowed the merging of investment and commercial banking and then did not do anything about the terrorist.

Then Bush has 911 before his seat was warm, then Katrina. Basically we had good economic times most of his 8 years but eventually them bums that Clinton made sure got to buy homes started defaulting. Considering two wars and Katrina the economy staid pretty good shape except for that snowball Clinton left him. And Bush even warned that the Clinton snowball of Fannie and Freddie was dangerous, but no Barney Frank says all is good and now we are where we are. And you are still so ignorant that you keep beating the Bush drum!

You're right about some of it-- but the man we elected to be the overseer- to be at the helm-- told his regulators to take an 8 year vacation- and fell asleep at the wheel while he spent all his time funneling money into a sandpit hoping to have the George Bush High School or Super Highway named for him in Baghdad with his donations of our US taxpayer money  :( - while forgetting those he was elected to serve :(
Stuffing taxdollars into folks that history has shown will spit on his image 10 years from now!!

And moving the troops to Afganistan will cost less? And it will not raise the hate level of muslims?

Where is Obama going to get the money for that war?

If it is as simple as that then as of now everything is Obama's fault and never is Bush to be blamed again!

The buck stops at who caused the problem.

What part of Clinton changed the regulations and Bush warned that there was problems brewing if something was not done about them.

Bush is not a legislator he does not make law, he signs things once Congress does it. How is it he was suppose to stop Barney Frank from glossing over Fannie and Freddie? What else could Bush had done about Fannie and Freddie besides warn Congress that they need to do something. Please explain it to me?

After chastising deficit spending on the campaign trail, the Messiah proposes a trillion dollar pissaway, er excuse me, "stimulus" plan, and you're complaining about the last guy? You need to look at the the new guy is trying to do! He's trying to ruin the economy for the next 30 years!

Where'd Bush get all the money to rebuild Iraq :???: - while the puppet government he installed kept giving him the finger- refusing to pay for any of their own reconstruction-sticking money in their own pockets- and not even giving the US military a break on their gas..

Afghanistan was brought to us- on 9/11- not a GW fabricated oil/get even for Daddy war like Iraq was-- and it needs to be finished altho I don't think troops alone will be able to do it....History has shown that Afghanistan has been the cemetary of Armies for centuries...

Too bad GW went into Iraq and screwed up the whole balance of the area- giving Iran enormous power in the area- before he finished the project in Afghanistan off...But that was Bush- Texas wannabe cowboy- who didn't think before he jumped in with both feet- all hat, no brains :( :(

Sandhusker- at least Obama and the current Administration are proposing "pissing it away" on the US workers, in the US, and to rebuild US infrastructure and US industry-- rather than hand it out to the Iraquis :(

Not sure if you know, but the refineries/transport in Iraq, are sub-par.

I don't think the military could wait for the kids to fill the tanks with their sand pails.

Yeah, right. Condoms, dog parks, etc.... A pissaway is a pissaway and can't be justified nor tolerated no matter where it's at. If your leaders had any sense at all, they would be ashamed at what their plans will do to our long-term finances, all under the false pretense of "stimulus". They're just trying to take advantage of a situation to get their pet projects funding, to hell with the country's future.

So as long as you benefit from it you do not mind if your grandchildren pay for it? What you thinking you are old enough it will not matter to you 10 or 30 years down the line, so if Obama will give you a little now you don't mind your kids and grand kids paying for it?

Seems you had a problem with your grand kids paying for Bush's spending but Obama's is ok?

Are you even real? I am starting to think you are one of them Internet bots that answer people or greet them when the enter a chat room. You know something to keep the threads moving on here. An OTBOT!

Funny how libs can just stamp a different word on something and their kool aid drinkers buy it. Any other time or place them things would just be wasteful government spending or pork. But all the Dem's have to do is say it is a stimulus bill and the ignorant buy it.

I guess the bridge to nowhere would now be called a stimulus item. Seems it would create as many jobs or put as much money into the system as building a dog park.

How dumb can these libs be? Bridge building is pork, but dog park is stimulus.

What is sad is you have no clue what you are talking about!

Is it bad to hope someone fails at something that is bad for America?

If the PM in Canada was trying to banish all gay rights in your country would you hope he failed or was successful?

If a politician is trying to turn our country into a socialist one and we do not wish to be a socialist country why is it bad to hope he fails?

You really have no clue do you?

Any treason was committed by electing a Kenyan socialist.

Name one conservative who is hoping this country fails.

It is sad isn't it? Maybe not all of them but some are its not hard to read between the lines is it.

Lets see, about 6 weeks before the economic disaster we're now in wasn't it Bush that said "Our economy is on sound footing" He was right on top of things wasn't he. Laws were already on the books that could have been enforced (which by the way is the job of the executive branch) which MAYBE could have prevented the disaster and certainly could have lessened it most believe but the man in charge turned his head. In the meantime those with billion dollar annual salaries were sticking it back. Don't you know they are really hurting now. Surely all this wasn't planned,Naw couldn't have been.
