Wanna go fishin'???

I went to the Jr. Show at the KMOT Ag Expo in Minot yesterday. It was COLD (-6 or -7) and windy (35-40 mph)!! Good day to fish inside like these folks were doing...I took these going 75 mph while crossing Lake Sacajawea (Missouri River). It's illegal to stop or else I would have. I bet there were over 300 fish houses on Lake Audubon and probably another 100 on Sacajawea. I wish I could have gotten a pic of the one that had a satellite dish on the side. I'd guess they spend quite a bit of time on the ice.

I thought those of you who live where you don't get 1 foot + of ice might find these interesting.

If you ever want to come ice fishing let me know and I'll try to line something up for you. Lazy Ace and I just sit in the open, so we're fair weather ice fishing folks. Plus we only have a hand ice auger, so it's takes some work and time to get through a couple feet of ice.

Cheers---

How cold ones does Lazy Ace get drank while your drilling the hole?

Well, generally not many because our auger is dull and it talkes both of us to get through the ice. One thing about it, your cold ones stay cold on the ice. Lazy Ace bought some brews yesterday and accidently left them outside on the porch all night---it got down to -10....I bet he really has some cold one's now!

Trucks? Out on Ice? I thought that was a northern canada or an alaskan deal. Huh. Thanks for the pics TTB. Keep your hood up if you go outside. It's 15 or 20 here and one of those SD winds to go with it. Chill you to the bone if you're wearing arkansas clothes.

I know a guy who was ice fishing, and must have been bored, so he called On Star to tell them his truck was missing. The lady on the phone told him, with an amazed tone of voice that someone had dumped it in Lake Manitoba! Almost a mile from shore! :D :D :D :D :D

Anybody else ever drive out on the ice, drill a hole on either side of the truck, put a line down each hole and tie it to the windshield wipers, sit in the truck and drink/jig with the wipers on "pulse"????
Ever fry fish in the hubcap off of a Chevy 4X4??

Tim, where do you fish??

We hold the record for the number of trips to Rivers which ended fishless!    Summer and winter. Doesn't matter.

Lake of the Prairies is better, but a long drive, especially when the cows are calving. Everywhere else is nothing but jackfish. (that's Northern Pike in American :D )

Kato, Since we moved back here we fish on Oak Lake. The hubcap and wiper stories both happened on unamed lakes in northern Alberta when I lived there.....killing time waiting for paper work to come through on new leases or seismic lines...... many other "time killers" were devised which I will not discuss here. :D
PS. My brothers live up near Rivers and fish there all the time. They never catch f-all either. :D
