Sen. Barkus faces 3 felonies in boat crash

HELENA - Prosecutors filed felony charges against state Sen. Greg Barkus on Wednesday, accusing him of having a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit after an August boat crash in which five people were seriously injured, including U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg.
Court documents say Barkus is charged with felony criminal endangerment, and two counts of felony negligent vehicular assault. Each count carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
The Flathead County attorney contends that Barkus knowingly, while intoxicated, engaged in conduct that created substantial risk of death to passengers - including one who was left in a coma.
Documents filed Wednesday say that Barkus' blood-alcohol level was 0.16 percent, almost two hours after the accident on Flathead Lake. The legal limit for operating a motor vehicle is 0.08 percent.
But oldtimer you said Rehnberg was at .095, your blame SAGA continues to elude to him even though every one had questioned you as to his involvment from the berginning and you REFUSE to show where he forced anyone to get on the boat, you even went do far as to accuse him of bein gay!!!!!
Not only on this forum but othersand have been called out on them as well, yet you do the spin, youare one sorry person cannot admit you are wrong!!!!
Incidently oldtimer no one repeat NO ONE is denying Barcus's involvment as being drunk!!!
How many court cases have you fabracated the truth on in order to get a conviction??????
EH
No Ed (or are you Droopy- or quickdraw- or back to memanpa now?  ) I never meant to give the impression that Rehberg was driving-- just the impression that the state is seeing that in his intoxicated state he didn't recognize he was endangering his employees - 2 Congressional employees that he took to a party and didn't have a sober ride to get home...
This will definitely change the direction of the election....All the District Judges in the district have recused themselves already--and a Judge from the center of the state has been picked to sit on the case...
Rehberg already has 4 or 5 challengers- as I heard a Republican (who claims she is a Republican in the mold of Teddy Roosevelt) filed yesterday to challenge him in the primary...
I'm a betting that to avoid a trial and nasty press for Rehberg and the top state Repubs that were at the party--Barkus claims he is an alcohol problem (which I've heard he is- the reason I mentioned about him drunk at the Teabag parties)- checks into some Rehab- then gets a plea bargain agreement and they avoid a trial...
But Ed- why are you concerned? Rehberg doesn't represent Arizona- and its an issue we in Montana need to take care of....EH?
