Well Ed- the saga continues:

Sen. Barkus faces 3 felonies in boat crash

MATT GOURAS Associated Press | Posted: Wednesday, October 7, 2009 11:45 am

HELENA - Prosecutors filed felony charges against state Sen. Greg Barkus on Wednesday, accusing him of having a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit after an August boat crash in which five people were seriously injured, including U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg.

Court documents say Barkus is charged with felony criminal endangerment, and two counts of felony negligent vehicular assault. Each count carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

The Flathead County attorney contends that Barkus knowingly, while intoxicated, engaged in conduct that created substantial risk of death to passengers - including one who was left in a coma.

Documents filed Wednesday say that Barkus' blood-alcohol level was 0.16 percent, almost two hours after the accident on Flathead Lake. The legal limit for operating a motor vehicle is 0.08 percent.

But oldtimer you said Rehnberg was at .095, your blame SAGA continues to elude to him even though every one had questioned you as to his involvment from the berginning and you REFUSE to show where he forced anyone to get on the boat, you even went do far as to accuse him of bein gay!!!!!
Not only on this forum but othersand have been called out on them as well, yet you do the spin, youare one sorry person cannot admit you are wrong!!!!

Incidently oldtimer no one repeat NO ONE is denying Barcus's involvment as being drunk!!!

How many court cases have you fabracated the truth on in order to get a conviction??????

EH

No Ed (or are you Droopy- or quickdraw- or back to memanpa now?  ) I never meant to give the impression that Rehberg was driving-- just the impression that the state is seeing that in his intoxicated state he didn't recognize he was endangering his employees - 2 Congressional employees that he took to a party and didn't have a sober ride to get home...

This will definitely change the direction of the election....All the District Judges in the district have recused themselves already--and a Judge from the center of the state has been picked to sit on the case...
Rehberg already has 4 or 5 challengers- as I heard a Republican (who claims she is a Republican in the mold of Teddy Roosevelt) filed yesterday to challenge him in the primary...

I'm a betting that to avoid a trial and nasty press for Rehberg and the top state Repubs that were at the party--Barkus claims he is an alcohol problem (which I've heard he is- the reason I mentioned about him drunk at the Teabag parties)- checks into some Rehab- then gets a plea bargain agreement and they avoid a trial...

But Ed- why are you concerned? Rehberg doesn't represent Arizona- and its an issue we in Montana need to take care of....EH?

Someone needs to send a email to the defense with some of these posts by ot. He will have to excuse himself from hearing the case! Ajudge after all must be impartial.with his fealing about political affiliation or other matters.

Evidentally you haven't seen all the personal crap that gets posted about OT around here. I'm not taking sides in this, but I strongly believe keeping people private is common consideration. If a poster wants to tell someone who they are that is there business, not another posters. JMHO

CA ot is the one that posts his personal info about who he is and all his acheivments and such. Its kind of like obama releasing an alledged copy of his colb. the issue of privacy is moot and over with. Ot exsposed himself with his postings.

Did I miss something? I don't see anything that indicates that Rehberg forced anyone to go to a party. Did he pick them up and drive them there? Were they somehow coerced into going?

Seriously... did I miss some facts here? I got the speculation part, but what about facts?

And I agree with you CA...But Hoppy has always thought anything you can dig up on the web is free game to use whatever way he likes-- and has used it to attack and run off some good folks....And believes in using first and last names constantly if he knows them....

But today- as he did before as the memanpa poster (and in his other multiple ID's)- hoppy put several posts on the Ranch Talk- as his real name and real ranch apparently- and then apparently got in a hurry and screwed up and made the mistake and didn't get changed back- that MYT farms and others caught...

Some of the behind the scenes and lurker folks that Hoppy helped run off with his attacks- and calling them liars- and denials of multiple ID's and the memanpa ID are laughing themselves silly now in PM's and e-mails since ol Hoppy's real name (thru the ranch name) is plastered on the British White website-- and they are really getting a chuckle out of the e-mail address he has posted on it....

Oh what a web we weave- when we first begin to decieve

But I agree with you CattleArmy- and I won't post it-- but it is nice to be able to put a full name to a person who thinks they must live under multiple identities...

Actually Katrina I'm not-- as I've known for a long time that Hopalong had/was using many many multiple usernames....In fact to me it was sad that someone had to do this in the first place for whatever reason-and makes me question the mental reasons behind it... But what was really sad- but also comical- was when I knew they were answering their own posts and complimenting themselves under other names :???:

And it was also sad that this type of person became the cheerleader for the mob mentality of some on this site-- especially those that backed his ever nasty attack on folks...

But as I said before- I'm sure there are several of those that he attacked incessantly- and constantly called a Liar- and denied being memanpa to (even when they caught him in identical screwups)-- that are doing the "Snoopy Dance" and yucking it up- with his screwup of today....

I want to know why "we" are holding Rehberg responsible for anything other than himself getting in that boat? Did he "force" any of the other ADULTS to ride with a drunk driver? Good GAWD there is one person responsilble for driving while drunk...the others should have known better but it was their OWN decission to get in that boat.

Ok fine going by that then does that mean the passenger in the car that killed a person also be charged and sued?

Sorry but to put any more resposiblity on Rehberg is only politics.
Barkus is the drunk driver...ask these questions of him and leave Rehberg out of the frey.

Back to the original topic

Because as a person in a position of Authority- and state leader it shows a lack of "common sense" and poor judgement apparently impaired by Rehbergs drinking in not having a sober driver to at least give his employees (US Congressional/government employees) a safe ride back to their motel-- and it adds to the pattern of incidents that Rehberg has had with alcohol....This will be a major issue in the upcoming election-- and just as it (alcohol related incidents) did with our last Senator (Burns) could well mean Rehbergs downfall....

BAC levels decrease at a rate of .015 per hour. So 3 hours before Rehberg was tested (the time of the accident) Rehberg's BAC was .095. Because Rehberg was impaired, he was incapable of judging whether Barkus was sober, and he took his two young staffers on the boat with him.

Here's another major point: Rehberg failed to designate a sober member of his party who could make sure everyone got home safe before everyone started drinking. State and federal experts spend millions of dollars every year for decades on DUI prevention and the importance of designated drivers. Trying to say that you don't know about designated drivers in today's world is like trying to say you didn't know smoking was bad for you.

Finally, what we have here is a shameful pattern of alcohol-induced bad behavior. I can think of at least 3 other incidents:

This one, when Rehberg drank half a dozen shots of vodka, jumped on a horse, fell off, got trampled by another horse, broke a rib and allegedly called the locals "cone heads." Initially Rehberg's spokesman told reporters the Congressman had no shots of vodka. Then the Congressman admitted he had "two or three." And later, a Marine colonel who was on the trip told Roll Call Rehberg really had six shots.

And then there was this. Rehberg's reelection campaign report lists a nearly $300 expenditure on Feb. 25 for "lodging" at the Tune Inn, a storied dive bar on Capitol Hill. An inn, the Tune Inn is not. "There's a cot in the basement," a bartender explained. "But usually people just pass out on it."

And then there was the bar brawl involving Rehberg and his thugs in Missoula.

hmmm ot keep spinning......
Was Rehburgs wife drunk too? Most politicians have a "driver" so your saying he did not?
You talk about being a person in a position of Authority and not showing "common sense" what charges can we bring against you?
You have no common sense and show bad judgement all the time....and yes I will even go as far as saying you have endangered people. You should have kept quite and off the board the stalking claims...and had them contact thier local Law Enforcement instead of you trying to be "Sherriff in town" I still say you had a hand in turning some of the "stalking" into more than it was.
You make claims agaisnt people with no proof and you slander their name.
