For what it's worth, I advocate a weak Federal Gov't.

Not military, "Gov't".

We are an assembly of States that have allowed the Feds to grab way too much power................................

read article 1 section 8 of our Constitution:

the enumerated powers given to the federal government ( and the only legal ones too I might add) have to do mostly with defense and trade.

other than those enumerated powers all others are just taken

"all just powers come from the consent of the governed"

I agree katrina- I don't know that I "like" Ron Paul very much but he is the only one of the candidates that I see so far that I can "respect" for his integrity and adherence to our Constitution. I believe that the office of president should be based on more than a popularity contest. If not lets skip the election and have an American Idol like contest------ woops, I think we are already there!

I have made up my mind that I will NOT vote for the lesser of two evils then spend the rest of my time complaining about evil.

I am NOT saying Ron Paul is Jesus Christ or even close- I am just saying so far he seems to adhere to our Constitution way way closer than anyone else that is running. Didn't all this start with a video of newt  bragging how he intended to usurp our Constitution?

doesn't this icon even look like newt?? LOL

:D :D :D Yup...... You hit the nail on the head..... :D :D :D In more ways than one!!!!Just remember we have to back who ever is the prom queen for the Republican nominee.. Maybe our best chance to bring this country back is not so much the way of the president, but maybe through the congress.... Time to boot the rinos out of congress and put more teaparty people in..

In life you will always choose between the lesser of two evils. The only one you agree with and won't have to make compromises is yourself. The perfect candidate doesn't exist. No reason to stop looking though. If Paul is the candidate i will support him, just as I will with Gingrich Romney etc. Their is no way in hell I can pull the lever for obama and look my kids grandkids and forefaathers in the eye.
If we get any Rep into the oval office we mMUST be looking over his shoulder all the time. In the past the voters basically ignored DC until election time. They must be held to scrutiny every minute of every day.
If Paul get's the bid the media will come after him as I don't feel they have even bothered to think about him. They just don't think he has a snowballs chance at this point.
Too many times conservatives are to worried about if their candidate can get elected instead of picking the guy for his principles and stance on issues. They compromise way too soon.
I just wish we had a true statesman and a conservative rolled into one.

Right you are Katrina- Montana doesn't have a voice in the Presidential race anyway. I am going to spend my time and money on the races I can influence.the local and state offices.and to a much smmaller degree the U.S. representatives we send to Washington. I just read a report where our Senator tester who is up for reelection has recieved more money from wall street than obama. it is hard for me to think I am going to influence that race as much as the others.
