we have been busy,,,,, to say the least

To anyone who may have missed us, we have been busy. Trying to finish up with AIing the cows, we had a little bit of a mishap, one of these darling EXT daughters decided that she should releave me of my better half. I had to call out the ambulance as I was afraid to move her without a backboard as she could only say "I cannot breath and it hurts like". Luckily nothing turned into broken, only separated which hurts worse. I watched the whole thing and a cow landing on a person 1/10th their wieght would have probably killed me. God bless EXT and the assholes that brought him into the world.
Then we had to have MCGs hunt in North Carolina in two days, non refundable tickets, so she went on the hunt which was unproductive, she caught cold so she got a bad cough. If you have never experienced broken ribs, displaced sternum or the likes with a cough and cold, you have never had real fun.

Then to top it all off, while there on the hunt, sw's man emails me that he AND HIS WIFE, will be arriving in Billings on such and such day and such and such time to pick them up. And yes Lazy Ace, I am having a cold one, or two or three or four.

After the shock and awe of this all, I am of fine mental health. My new daughter in law wants a poster of the poem I wrote about being married, she is a keeper, just was not prepared for her yet. Life goes on, God works in misterious ways at times.

God bless each and everyone of you,
MERRY CHRISTMAS

sw and Hanta Yo, you folks really have been busy. Sorry to learn of all the complications in your life, but that is what keeps us from becoming complacent. Hope things level off and get easier for all of you. Hanta Yo, hope you heal up real fast. Don't let sw keep that miserable ol' heifer around. :)

Wow.you have had a busy and scary time. Hope you heal fast. If you have a seperated sternum, it takes a long, long time to finally feel OK. It was years for me, but the chrioprator (sp?) did help by relaxing the muscles to the sternum at times. Congrats on the new member of the family!!

sw and hanta!! God bless you both for all you have gone through....with your sanity intact (more or less) You are amazing people and I have no doubt that you will come through with flying colors!!! Hanta--have you discovered the "buddy pillow" yet to help you cough and breathe a little easier!! Just take a teddy bear (or other stuffed animal....NO, not the cow that did this to you  )and hold it tight to you chest while you cough and deep breathe.....toooooo often, I have taken care of folks who started with busted/seperated ribs and ended up with pneumonia because they were in too much pain to cough and take deep breaths!!! Good luck to you and may God be with you during your time of healing!!
:D :D :D :D

So sorry to hear of the mishap. I hope when things settle down, that cow gets a free ride to town.

Congratualtions on the new daughter-in-law!!! Doesn't have to always be something we expect, for it to be good!!!

SW, you hang in there and keep all the ends together...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Things are looking up, Hanta is healing up so things are tolerable for her (and me), The DIL is a keeper, can't expect anything less from the Marine. She is in the Navy, stationed at Pearl Harbor. I tried to get them to wait until after this next deployment but sometimes fatherly advice lands on deaf ears. Those two literally took the plunge, they jumped out of a perfectly good airplane and said their vows when they got back to earth. They were going to say their vows on the way down but the minister chickened out and would not jump. Kids these days, what ever happened to a plain old wedding? Just having them here makes this a special Christmas for us, I just need someone to turn out the lights a little bit earlier so I can get my beauty rest. I must be getting old

Smart minister :D I always remember what an old WWII tail gunner used to tell me-- "there is no sensible reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane".....
Congrats to you guys - and the new couple...Thats got to be a couple- a Jarhead and a Swabby     :p

Hope Hanta heals up soon -- she needs to remember you're supposed to pet the dog-not the cow   And I know what its like to split a sternum as it happened to me over 30 years ago in Mankota Canada when my bareback rig went forward over the horses withers/head and in the ensuing wreck it stepped in my chest to get my hand out of the rig--then the border was closed by the time we got to it and I had to spend the night in car at the port not knowing if I would live or even be able to take another breath, before I could get back to the Doctor in Havre in the morning and get some X-rays and pain pills :( :(

I've kind of been in a divided stupor/celebration of consoling/celebrating myself after getting the shock this week that I have 2 new Grandbabies (2 different pregnant daughters) on the way-- so I know what shocks are....  :D :( :D :???:

It has certainly been a traumatic December for Rancher's Net members, pleased to hear the injuries were not as bad as they could have been. Wishing you and Hanta a better 2008 and prosperity in the new year!

Thanks so much, Ranchersnet family! Your encouraging words are just that, very encouraging and thank you. I'm breathing better, I'm off the meds but I sure feel it when I don't take advil first thing in the morning :(

I move a little slower and still lay flat on my back :( I'm pretty much over the cold but that dang lingering coughing hurts like a b*#&! Kris, I'll try your "buddy pillow" see how it works. My doctor did warn me about not taking deep breaths because of pneumonia. He put me on antibiotics when I went back to him with my cold.

That EXT is GOING as soon as we wean her calf. Maybe she'll give us another reason and be open.

OT, boy, having to spend the night like you did after your accident...holy COW! I can only imagine wanting to die.

Two grandbabies on the way huh??? What a blessing!

Our new DIL is a sweetie, but like sw said, we weren't quite ready but it's getting easier. All our kids were here this weekend, of course they had to have a party and DIL got to see her new spouse at his finest

We wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas!!!

:santa:
