My cousin’s son married another rancher’s daughter last Saturday evening in her parents’ pasture down in a beautiful cedar
canyon north of Wall, SD.

We came attired in cowpasture chic! Note the posh seats - sturdy planks laid across good wheatgrass bales.

The bride, who is right at home on the range, is escorted to the altar by her rancher father.

The exchange of vows under an overcast sky.
Storm clouds were building off to the west, but here there was no wind and the slightly cloudy sky made the temperature
very comfortable.

It’s a done deal. No backing out now!!
The guy with the suspenders sitting in front of me is our neighbor, the father-in-law of another of my cousins, and also the
father of American Sheep Industry’s executive director, Peter Orwick

Up, up and away.
Those assembled released thousands of balloons into the wild blue yonder in celebration before driving the ten miles or so
into Wall for the reception at the community center.
It was a great day and these kids make a great couple. I’m betting this is one marriage that will still be going strong
until death parts them.
