I've been explaining it to you for months-- its the paranoia stirred by the rightwingernuts fearmongering and the simple minded followers that has them all peeing down their legs over what they "imagine" is going to happen.....

White House Explains Obama 'Wee-Weed Up' Comment

Friday, August 21, 2009 5:10 PM

President Barack Obama puzzled people when he said Washington "gets all wee-weed up." The White House offered a translation Friday: Folks are wetting the bed over the healthcare debate.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs was asked during his daily on-camera briefing what Obama meant on Thursday when he decried the way his push for an ambitious healthcare overhaul had been played in the media.

"There's something about August going into September where everybody in Washington gets all wee-weed up," Obama told an audience at the Democratic National Committee headquarters. "I don't know what it is. But that's what happens."

The "wee-weed" comment had reporters looking for a translation from Gibbs, who is from Alabama and known for his colorful Southern idioms.

"Let's do this in a way that is family-friendly. I think wee-weed up is when people just get all nervous for no particular reason," Gibbs said. "Bed-wetting would be probably the more consumer-friendly term."

"Wee-weed up" does not translate to wetting the bed. If it's "up" it can't be "down." So it does not even translate to "peeing down the leg." How disgusting that the holder of the highest position in the US would resort to such baseless and tasteless language. If he had not already alienated me with so many of his positions and problems--this would have worked for me. He is not Joe the Plumber--that is not how he connects with Americans. My personal thought was that he obviously thinks those who do not agree with him are uneducated and need to be talked to like two year olds. I'd suggest he or his speech writer/teleprompter typer consult Roget's Thesaurus next time.

Nope. No excuse for McCain.
But may I remind you, OT, HE IS NOT THE PRESIDENT OF THE
UNITED STATES?

Gee, you seem to think two wrongs make a right.
Does Obama not have to take responsibility for what he says?

(boy, was asking you that, ever a foolish question.)

He did- and he's saying the same thing I've said for months has happened to the right wing listening to the rightwingernuts with their fearmongering...

Every time some odd liberal says something in D.C.- the rightwing paranoids run to change their pants because the world is coming to an end-- when in all actuality it probably has as much chance of happening as the sun stopping shining......
And if that isn't enough these rightwingernut spokesman profiteering from stirring up fear- dig up things someone said 30-40 years ago-- and all their rightwing followers go all apesh*t over that in their conspiracy centered minds....

Here is something a little more recent for you OT.

Naomi Wolfe

10 steps to closing down a Democracy

http://fora.tv/2007/10/09/Naomi_Wolf_End_of_America#fullprogram

her book was written concerning what Bush was doing, but see if you think Obama has ended any of the programs (steps) or expanded on any.

I think you missed my point---the language is unacceptable. Use what is appropriate for your level--Did I approve of McCain--NO---And I do not think your reply to me has anything to do with the words that he used. I do not care for Obama, but he is there for four years. I think I have the right to expect that he will live up to at least some of his campaign promises--and I don't recall one of them being degenerating the English language.

Apparently you haven't listened to any of the Nixon or LBJ tapes :???:

You folks false "shock" over the term just shows what some of us have been saying for sometime- it wouldn't matter what Obama says or does- you will find something wrong with it....

My Preacher uses worse language than that- and in fact I've heard her say "wee wee" during her first day at church....

I've used the term before to describe urination as; "I've got to go wee-wee". I've never heard of anybody "Getting wee-weeed up". By the tone of Gibb's explaination, I don't think he has either.

Maybe you ought to ask your president* to be a little more professional. His inexperience is showing again.

Again--I just feel that the position demands some formality--If I would have been old enough during Nixon and LBJ and the Internet would have been here and I would have been cognizant of politics--I would hope I would have had the same opinion. Doesn't matter if it is a Republican or Democrat---We could probably have quite a thread of all the illiterate statements, words, and spellings that come from our Presidents--if we don't say we don't like it--doesn't that say that we're okay with it?

Okay Twister, let's assume that we agree with you. Is the President a human being or not? Will he be careless with his language at times or make mistakes? What I want to know is why if he so much as yawns some members of PB seize upon that and go on and on. They have done so since before he was inaugurated and it's apparent that they loathe him and never gave him a chance.

Let's all agree that we do not think it is fitting for our elected officials to curse or use inappropriate language. And let's agree that it happens and that very few of them are above reproach.

And that's enough on that topic frankly. Move on.

How can he be careless with his language when it's all typed out before hand.
