Finaly the week end is here, its a getting close to noon here in the TX Hill country, bout time to spruce up and head to town, find me a steak and some refreshments.
Then early in the morning a few of us are heading to falcon lake do a little black bass fishing .
Im told in the heat of the summer with the water level low down there ,the bass are holding in deep pockets and are easy to catch, always have wanted to catch a 10 pound black bass,so till Monday..............good luck

PS how about you,big plans ?

Probably do as little as possible- Got all the cows that I needed to move to the community pasture moved and tucked in this week- bulls were all in the right places as of yesterday...

I have to cover for the Judge from noon today until Sunday night so probably won't wander far or get too involved...

The guys been calling me to teamrope this weekend- but with the 100+ temps it just doesn't sound inviting, so I put up $50 for my daughter and she can go out and rope with the neighbor in my place.....Might just haul a few bales in the morning and hibernate in the A/C in the afternoon- or I might just wait with the bales until the cooler weather is supposed to hit on Monday....

Good luck with your fishing- Haymaker....

Haymaker I hope you catch a good one tonight and a good one while fishing too.
As for me, my daughter is getting married this afternoon. I am excited for her but as the time gets closer I am not sure how I will feel this evening. I may want to go out for some two stepping or I may have quiet time in the pasture with the cows. I may even spend some time in her old bedroom and ponder. I will just have to wait and see how I feel when she is gone.
Bull calves will get booster shots this weekend and I need to try to snap some corn if I can get the snapper back together.

Don't worry alabama, your daughter and you will always be close. I read somewhere that daughters and dads always have a close bond and that sons and moms do. I see it with my own kids. Have a great day!

Hay Maker....good luck fishin'!!! I hope you catch the big 'un!

Alabama...congrats on your daughter's marriage.

Feeder, I hope you guys kick butt at the races, and that you don't have any denim problems

As for Lazy Ace and I, it our town's annual celebration, the Days of 1910. We went in for the livestock show. It's fun watching the kids show, but it was hotter than Hades, and it's 110 in the shade right now with a stout SW wind. I sure hope there are no fires today!

Lazy Ace and I get to sell beer at the Demolition Derby tonight, and tomorrow and Sunday Lazy Ace will be the barrier judge at the rodeo, and I'll probably sell more beer!!!

Have a great and safe weekend everyone!

Cheers---

TTB

You two wait until you get a daughter in college- then you'll be working another job too   Two of the horses I had to get reshod were for her to take to school- two trips to Miles looking for a house or apartment- and her and her mother have been shopping for a week for stuff for her house that she rented 2 weeks ago so she could get it before the school crowd shows up...And then she runs me off the computer so she can computer shop for new clothes and new boots because the old ones are scuffed- and I got a good idea who's paying for it all altho I don't even ask anymore

Weekends here have been filled with haying, but wooooohoooooo we rolled up the last bale today!!! Not sure what the weekend will bring as haying hasn't left a choice. As hot as it is supposed to be I'm thinking turn the central air down and just stay in.
