It seems quite contrary to pray that the storm materializes at least as 'good' as prognisticated! But both personally and as a congregation, we will be doing just that this morning......as we do for both the necessary moisture AND for the return of our government leaders touse of Constitutional principles.

We have a front moving thru here now- headed in your direction... Started snowing about 9AM- and is supposed to snow and blow all day and night-- altho as of right now the temp is still 34 degrees and its melting as soon as it hits the ground... Supposed to snow all day and night- but only predicting an inch or 2 for here... But temps are supposed to drop down to below 0 tomorrow night...

So nice out there today tho that the cows walked away from a lot of the hay/straw I fed this morning and went back out to grazing...

Blizzard Developing in the Northern Plains

A storm system in the Northern Plains will produce snow and strong winds across portions of eastern Montana, the Dakotas and Minnesota through Monday. Winds will gust up to 45 mph in this area, with blowing snow contributing to blizzard conditions. Travel across this region will be hazardous with reduced visibilities and snow-covered roads.

Looks like our little storm is going to turn into a blizzard as it moves east and south...Snow quit here about 4PM- and now we just have wind..

The State Highway Dept is saying the roads in the far NE corner of the state- just south of the border from Big Muddy- are either all closed or emergency travel only...

Son went home just before supper. Said it was a slow trip as the snow was stuck to the road pretty good. Just stuck my head out the door and it's still snowing and blowing.

We're doomed. The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore is going to set up shop in either Des Moines, Omaha, or Lincoln. He's the last one you want coming to cover a storm.

UMMMMM Soap, I don't know what year you are in, but February 21st this year is on a Thursday.
We probably have close to 3 inches on the ground. 14 degrees, and not much wind at all, but I haven't been off of the river yet either.

You are quite right, LazyWP. Around this outfit, the days sometimes all seem to run together. I did fix the problem.

picked up about 6 inches of snow in the Des Moines metro overnight. Thankfully there's not alot of cold with this storm (it's in the mid 20's) and the main roads are in pretty good condition this morning.

We had 12 to 14 inches. The most snow we have had in six years. The first half came with the wind from the e ese. So that was odd there are funny drifts where there usually isn't from that wind. However it came its quite welcome.
