Well Witching

It got a bit breezy last night and the wind drove this branch into the crusted snow. Think there's water underneath there-it's right over my buried line lol. If you look in the background you can see a bunch of water that's the start of the flooding-if we get a couple cold days we'll have a 100 acre rink.

LOL and here I thought you'd managed to find yourself a forked peach limb, and was tryin to witch water.

My grandaddy could witch water. Swore it had to be a peach limb tho.

and......your limbs upside down LOL

That well witching is weird. My dad's cousin could do it and showed dad. Dad could do it, my uncle (dad's brother) could do it, I can do it, but mom can't. We all used the two metal rods. Must be genetics.

I worked with a water well driller for a couple winters. Some witched them some didn't we always hit water, usually about the same depth given the area.

I don't believe in witching wells. I've seen it try to be done and not work every time. There is a fellow around that witches septic lines though, it's pretty amazing unless you take in the fact that he dug them all, still some have been dug over 50 years now.

Just saw on the news where a guy down in La. struck oil in his back yard. Sounded like he just wanted to take a chance and see what he could find. When the ground thaws maybe you ought to see what's under that branch!
