Just got home at 5'00 A'M after pulling an all niter from Wood Mountain-Ty's first finals were pretty good-spent four days with some great people and he is qualified to go to Illinois for National Finals-too bad Dad's wallet isn't lol. They had pretty salty broncs for the kids-he never got on a horse that scored under 20-just a bit more horse than he can handle right now. There were some highlights there though-a kid made an 8.5 calf run in the mud that was pretty to watch-a jr. steer rider won a round on a droppy son of a gun that had smashed his buddy the day before. The Grade twelve kids all got up and told everybody their future plans-there's alot of talented kids out there so m uch for the 'dumb' cowboy stereotype. Next Highschool rodeo is Canadian Finals in Medicine Hat in August I can't wait-hopefuylly we can get 40-50 broncs under Ty between now and then. There were two old pro bronc riders helping kids out so he got lots of good advice.

Congrats!!! Great accomplishment. Got a bunch from NM headed to Illinois --five from this county alone. One girl going in 4 events. (she was the HS national barrel racing champion last year --her brother, Taos Muncy, is currently sitting in #2 spot in the PRCA Saddle bronc standings)

And it's not so close from here either --with the price of gas its like buying a house to get there.

Riverbottom ran off on Ty a couple weeks back so we chapped him-he hits pretty hard lol. Ty is 141 in that group picture.

I see he gets his stature from his dad. :D

He's sure built to be a bronk rider.

Thanks for posting the pix. :)

I'm quite a ways south and east of Gallup (quite a ways as in 4-5 hours) --
Gallup is one of those places you go to for a reason --it's not on the way to anywhere except Arizona :)

Absolutely beautiful place to rodeo tho...Red Rock Park is breathtaking, eerie and quite an experience all the same time. It'll be hotter than a pistol though in July.
