Judy Shepard to be keynote speaker at Black Hills Pridefest 2009

Judy Shepard, the mother of slain University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard, will be the keynote speaker during Black Hills Pridefest 2009 in Rapid City later this month
Shepard had to cancel last July's scheduled appearance during the yearly event. This year, she is to speak at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City on Friday, May 29. Tickets are available through the Dahl box office or online at www.thedahl.org.
A free public reception will be held at 7 p.m. May 28 at the Black Hills Center for Equality, 1102 West Rapid St.
The center also is sponsoring other events May 28-31 to celebrate gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people.
