Sprinkled and misted all day yesterday--Started in raining last night- rained all night- is still raining...I've picked up another .8 over the night...Glasgow is now well over 6 inchs for the month now since it rained after this report (last year we never even got 11 for the year)... We're over 8 at the ranch...

Yesterday the talk of the town was how this country could go from drought to beautiful so quick...Last year the pastures looked like pure sh!t- and most the water holes were dry by August-- now this year noone can get their springwork done because of water and mud...

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GLASGOW MT
0200 AM MDT THU MAY 31 2007 ...

 Yup and we're planning on putting up tons and tons of hay....

Global warming, HA!

I can't believe the hayfields-- I have new grass and alfalfa plants coming up in hayfields that I haven't spread seed in (with the fertilizer) for 3-4 years because of the high cost of the fertilizer....

Rain stopped about noon- which was when I had to go to town to do some horse inspections for the horse show folk- then went to the cow sale...Smiles everywhere...Ended up with 1.1 inches, but predictions its supposed to move back on us tonite.....

Then had to stop at the waterhole--place was full of farmer/ranchers--and in the true pattern of farmers/ranchers I did hear the bitches (altho they all had a smile on their face as they complained)...First was that we were getting so much rain that the grass hay was lodging and it was going to be tough to keep from plugging up swathing  Then I heard the topper- one of the guys that run cows out in the Willow Creek area where I posted the pictures of the flooding was complaining " that his calves where going to come in 50 lbs light this fall cause the grass was so high the calves couldn't find the teats" :???:

He won the biggest Bullthrower award for the day..... :D

Sure nice to see folks smiling after last year......

We have a stationtary front to the west of here that caused some pretty tremendous storms in the area.. A decent sized Tornado went through a town to the South and west of here in Iowa and another one or two were seen North of here.. WE had some rotation in the skies above and got clipped by the edge of the storm and eneded up with a 1.25 inches of rain from it.. That give us 2.25 inches of rain in the past 7 days and 2.35 since April 25th....NOt a lot for how warm and windy it has been but a definate step in the right direction.. With how much rain we had been getting locally (Mostly to the west of the miss, to the south and North of us as well this was bound to happen sooner or later.. Glad it wasn't much later.. Pattern is supposed to hold for another couple days so if the coulds break and we heat up again today... Booom.. It could be a repeat preformance... I take the rain and not the hail and tornados (Clinto Iowa was describing blizzard like conditions yesterday.... Hail, 1-2 inches of it and the fog made by the heat of the day and old of the ice kind of created a blizzard like appearance..)
