Whoa, the scene outside this morning shows that our spring weather was just a teaser. The ground is white again with about 4" of new snow covering the mud and the east wind is whipping icicles through everything.

Got a few new calves on the ground so I best go check on their condition right about now . . .

This front with the moisture (which came in from California) stretches from Montana to the east coast along the border...
We're up to over 8" of snow- still snowing- 25 degrees-- but the nice thing is that the 50 mph winds are now down to 10 mph...

Got barn full of mommas and babies- Calf warmer has been going all night... I had to kick one out to make room for the frosty little fella Grandma found when she checked at 6AM...

Spring storms = low pressure + heavy pregnant cows = birthing boom ...

Well we're back to the same temperatures we had in February. Forecast highs of -2 working up to +2 for the next week. And this, after all our snow melted two weeks ago.

Yup, an early taste of spring tends to make one grumpy when followed by more winter.
