Wait, I got it! The operator ignored the paragraph in the GPS guidance system operating manual that explicitly indicated that the "auto-steer" technology was not to be used for roading the equipment to the next field. He then found himself jolted, mid-nap, and scrambling for his snorkel and flippers.

Having some bigger equipment I'd say too much throttle. I was roading my 12 row mounted planter north on saturday and took a corner too fast things seemed fine and I gave it some throttle and it got a bit loose and almost ditched it.That looks to be a bridge I bet he hooked something and it went bad pretty fast after that.Another no no is not locking your brakes together been there done that. It will scare the crap out of you.

Looks like someone drank to much of Hillsdowns infamous grog!

That's a lot of expensive machinery sitting in the ditch.

I heard that the tractor stalled at the top of the hill and the driver was along for a ride he won't soon forget. Everything is hydraulic and when the motor stops so does everything else!

Where and when was that? I wonder what insurance you would have to have to cover that? Glad I don't have any bridges or hills where our farm is.

Looks like it went in there backwards. Got out and didn't set the parking brakes?

I figure he must have gone in backwards also. The fence either side of the bridge seems intact and no apparent tracks in the ditch on either side of the bridge either. :(

That did happen 2 springs ago just north of Rosetown, Sk. on Eagle Creek. The operater claimed the tractor stalled out (electronic fault which JD denies) and went down backwards. The seed & fert tanks were full and these outfits aren't supposed to be transported with the extra considerable weight (35-40,000 lbs). Most people put the blame on the operator; a younger inexperienced town raised kid ; part of a large corporate farm crew that is always short of help & time to get the jobs done!
