What a night.

We started off the night by heading to a timber fire that rained out, and ended up having a butt kicking lightning storm. After all was over, we ended up with AN INCH AND SEVENTY HUNDREDTHS OF RAIN!!! :!: :!:

What a lightning show we had. Lightning straight over our head for an hour and a half. Hope everything is alive out there this AM.

Hope you got some rain FH.

Glad to hear you finally got a good rain Tap. We got .58" here, but that lightning in the night had me up on the ridge in the pickup waiting to see which hay corral was going to burn up. I haven't seen lightning that wicked for a long time.

Was the timber fire in the Short Pines near where the last one was? I heard Larry N. on the fire radio once and wondered if the fire was close to them.

We did, Tap. We sure did. Not as much as you~we got an even INCH.
YIPPEE!!!! We didn't have the terrible lightening either. We had some, but
nothing terrible.

Different day out there this morning. Mr. FH went to help ultrasound
yearling heifers and took his overboots. Whodda thunk it?

Glad you guys are getting some much needed rain  Esp with all the fires you've had to fight, hope this moisture slows them down! FH glad you got rain too. Too dry out this part of the country. It sure has been cooling off really nice last couple nights :D

I don't think they ever found the fire LB. It was on the SE corner of the hills, and it was rained out before anyone found it. Then with the heavy rains later, I don't think it mattered.  That is the way we like it. I think with the standing dry fuel, and heat that is predicted, we will be back to watching for fires again soon though.

We are sure appreciative of the rain. It ended up being half or less as you went south of here to the county line, but still real nice. I hope all of us can share in this late "rainy season". Good for you FH. Glad it made it that far north.
