The US is spending $8.5 million to upgrade a port of entry on the US/Canadian border and Canada has slated to close the Port on the Canadian side in April 2011. $8.5 million for a barely used one way port of entry. But Oldtimer claimed this was a great use of Stimulus money.

Sure seems like you were supporting spending money on them and anything else that would provide jobs in Montana.

But where did I say I support that port?... You again bend things around to make it fit you....In fact if you read further I even questioned the need for some of these ports just for your benefit to go visit relatives...But like usual, you prefer to make up fabrications.... :(

The main question to me anymore is how many do we need? While these small facilities offer great benefits to many that live near, own land on, and work both sides of the border-both Canadians and Americans-some that even go back and forth to school- but with our tightening of security and seeminly further closing down of cross boarder movement- are they necessary or should they just be shut down- and our what was the biggest unfenced border in the world be even further shut down... :???:

I don't even know where that port is I think the northern ports being updated is an important and well used Stimulus project... Some were ancient with no working plumbing anymore...But as far as I'm concerned they could just as well close 1/2 of them down- as I have no plans to go back north...Might keep some of that cheap tainted beef and diseased cows from coming south

It would certainly be nice if you were half as concerned about the criminals coming across our southern border as you are the cattle coming across our northern border.
