What is the emergency that warrents a release of 30 million gallons of oil from the EMERGENCY OIL RESERVES. I'm not sure but I don't think the emergency Obama sees in his chances for re-election should be used to dip into the reserves that are meant for TRUE EMERGENIES.

The bump he will get in the polls from the very brief drop in gas prices due to robbing the emergency oil reserves will last about as long as the bump he got in Killing Osama, a week tops. This guy will keep tossing out things in hopes of buying his re-election with not one thought to what will happen if there really is an NATIONAL emergency. :x
If he wanted to see a big jump in his poll ratings, he would start issueing permits to off shore drill. It would boost DOMESTIC oil production resulting in less dependency on foreign oil, lower gas prices and it would put US men back to work and off the government teat. But not Obama he would rather rob from the Emergency oil reserves while giving American tax dollars to Brazil for off shore drill. Then buy the oil from Solos with more tax payer money while US workers sit on his welfare/unemployment/socialist programs and become dependent on the government for everything, all while talking about the need for the US to become more energy independent.

I fear His handlers have it all planned out, the US will become one big nanny state. And if anyone dares stop the transformation of the US, he will declare a state of emergency and put the US under marshall law so he can stay in office as long as his handlers see fit. The guy is dangerous and he and his handlers needed to be gone.

Maybe the " EMER-GENIES".[/b] will pop out of the oil barrels and solve the issue.....

Be careful there Miss Tam...you'll give yourself another headache!!!

welcome back kolo=jingo=lulu=alie, missed your drivel and you dribble down your chin as you show your jealosy

I'm afraid Jingo doesn't comprehend what is being said.
He's just here to poke barbs at everyone that isn't an
Obama follower. Poor guy, I almost feel sorry for him, not
comprehending the posts that make so much sense. Obama
is not good for America, and proves it more every day he
breathes air as a President. Some people are just downright
stubborn and can't see the forest for the trees.

Miss one letter in a word and the troll jumps out, how Jingoish.

What say you Jingo does a dip in the President's polling numbers now constitute a national emergency worthy of dipping into the EMERGENCY OIL RESERVES? :?

BTW I'm betting the EMER-GENIES in the oil barrel will come up with a solution before Obama does?

Kolo always one to chastize for mispellilg even though she had something in her tag line claiming she used no spelll checker :D

Correcting my spelling is just his/her/it's way to distract from the question of WHAT EMERGENCY? It is just to bad that she/he/it hasn't learned that it is not a shame to stay quiet. The old saying "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt" comes to mind when Jingy posts.

10% ethanol gas is $3.499 here. Seems nice compared to what it was.

Wouldn't take much Middle East disturbance or river flooding to get it up to $4 or $5 in July and August. Even the fact that it's vacation season. I've even seen it predicted that it WILL go up in July.

Gas prices expected to drop to $3.40 a gallon by July 4
By Gary Strauss, USA TODAY

December 27, 2010
The former president of Shell Oil, John Hofmeister, says Americans could be paying $5 for a gallon of gasoline by 2012.
In an interview with Platt's Energy Week television, Hofmeister predicted gasoline prices will spike as the global demand for oil increases.
"I'm predicting actually the worst outcome over the next two years which takes us to 2012 with higher gasoline prices," he said.

Comin' this summer... $5 gas
By PAUL THARP
May 29, 2011

The forecast for the summer driving season: Hit the road early. Not to beat the traffic, but to beat the higher gas prices expected in mid-July.

Goldman Sachs' crystal ball is proclaiming that oil will soon soar to $135 a barrel, and likely have service stations jacking up fuel prices to $5 a gallon in New York just like the summer of 2008 that preceded the recession.

Indeed, analysts say Goldman and the other oil trading giant that also has the might to move prices, JPMorgan Chase, have already placed their energy bets for the summer. JPMorgan predicts oil hitting $130 a barrel in the coming weeks.

Despite all the turmoil in the Middle East associated with the Arab Spring rioting, oil has fallen to the $100 level, closing out May with a stunning 12 percent drop.

But before the storm, the calm. There appears to be a backlash by some oil-pit analysts.

"Whoever would buy into these rising prices is just paying homage (to Wall Street firms) and helping the speculative positions," said one oil trading source familiar with energy bets of Wall Street trading desks.

Gas prices, meanwhile, should benefit from the brief respite in oil prices.

"We should be seeing some big declines at the gas pumps after Memorial Day," said energy analyst Peter Beutel of Cameron Hanover.

"Wholesale prices have been dropping, and that could cause some serious revisions downward at the pumps," he said.

"The competition is fierce among the retailers, and whoever lowers his price first gets a big jump on everyone else and a lot of new business."

Pump prices have dropped about 10 cents a gallon this week, while wholesale prices at the Nymex have steadily skidded 50 cents a gallon in the past two weeks.

Those declines came despite upward pressure on wholesale prices here in the past two days due to speculation that Mississippi River flooding could disrupt Gulf Coast refineries.

At the start of the Memorial Day holiday, the national average for gas was $3.80 a gallon.

Tom Kloza, an analyst at Oil Price Information Services, expects gas to fall to between $3.50 and $3.60 between now and the July 4 holiday.

Consumers could use the help.

Economists say households spent an average of $369 on gas during April, or about $168 more than the $201 they spent during April 2009, when gas was averaging around $2.76 a gallon.

Every 50-cent jump in the cost of gasoline takes $70 billion out of the US economy over the course of a year, economists say.

The tourism industry expects a drop in travel because consumers intend to stay closer to home and take more day trips. AAA predicts the typical family will spend $692 on its vacation, down 14 percent from $809 last year.

Meanwhile, demand for gasoline has fallen for eight straight weeks as drivers try to cut back with mixed results.

"Drivers try to do what they can, but they have to go almost all the places they go," says energy researcher David Greene of the Department of Energy Web site fueleconomy.gov. "There's no magic gizmo that will drastically change someone's gasoline use."

And for that reason, as well as global uncertainty, Goldman and JP analysts see a return to high oil and gas prices in the coming months. Without a significant decrease in American demand -- or a sudden desire not to commute or drive to the shore -- $5 a gallon is likely on the horizon.

It seems like lower gas prices for the 4th could be a way to get the American people to feeling good and driving more and then the gas prices will get raised hard in the summer.

And what the big bankers and oil companies want, they pretty much get.

So why would they warn the American people ahead of time?

A lot of the American people won't do anything ahead of time anyway.

But the Elite and the smart ones will.

Survival of the fittest.

One has to ask was this Obama's plan all along? :?

First he shuts down off shore drilling so the US is even further dependent on foreign oil. When the Supreme Court rules against him, he basically ignors them and does what he wants anyway.

Then he causes yet another disturbance in the Middle East, by entering Lybia without consulting Congress, resulting in a shortage that would raise the price of gas.

Then to look as if he cares about the high gas prices effect on American pocketbooks, he opens up the EMERGENCY reserves, (side motive-- saving his chance for re-election), knowing the action would result in depleating them with no long term effect on Gas Prices.

The continue shortage and depleated reserves would most certainly skyrocket the price of gas forcing everyone to look for an another energy source. A Green energy source that he and his puppet masters have been forcing on everyone even though they are YEARS AWAY IF EVER from being able to reach the demand for energy in the US and around the world, FURTHER SKYROCKETING ENERGY PRICES.

Does he care about high gas prices or is it just another way to destroy the US economy by forcing his green energy agenda down everyones throats like he did with his Obamacare agenda? That I might add a large Majority have realized it will bankrupt the US and want it REPEALED.

The guy needs to be impeached as a domestic terrorist. He doesn't need bombs to destroy the US, all he needs is his executive power and an ink pen to destroy it. FGS the Congress, the Supreme Court and Government lawyers have proven they can't stop him. When he doesn't get the answer he wants he just ignores them and goes hunting for anyone that will back his version of the law. But it seems to me that those willing to back/defend him are getting few everyday. Example of this is, just ask a pointed question about his behavior and see how many come to his defence with an intellegent answer. More often than not they try distracting the issue with pointing out spelling errors, or they fall back to Blaming Bush

I didn't find any online quotes closer to home. You want me to call my local fuel dealers on a weekend and ask them what the price of farm fuel is?

Sure why not??
I can get delivery on weekends and
you being the big time oxygen waste should be able to do the same!!!! :D

Besides you have all the answers to everything else, just no proof
