OT, you used to gripe about the secret meetings Cheney had with the big Oil executives.

Where is the outrage, when Biden, has secret meetings with Unions?

The vice president’s office said Thursday it is honoring the wishes of the union to have press cameras barred.

“Traditionally, the AFL-CIO Executive Council meetings are closed press. Each of its sessions this week have been closed press,” spokeswoman Elizabeth Alexander said in a statement.

The AFL-CIO acknowledged Thursday that it was its choice to ban cameras after telling FOX News a day earlier it was the vice president’s decision. Alexander said the veep tried to change the rule but was denied.

Can't be secret- if they made it public they were having the meeting...Cheney didn't even acknowledge he had the meetings- or who/what organizations were there--even after it was leaked.....

I have no problems with people meeting with Administration folks without CNN and FAUX News broadcasting it...What I am opposed to is when they make policy in secret meetings that they don't even tell folks about- and then lie about afterward....

Rather you know they had them or you do not know they had them is pointless if you do not get to see what they talked about at either of them then it is a wash!

Campaign on open and transparent and then meets unions in a closed door meeting at the White House and signs a bill favoring the Unions. Then according to someone that was at the Florida close door meeting Biden was talking about "dancing with the one that brought you" and how the unions were to start dancing.
Real open and transparent Oldtimer, they are dancing with the ones that got them elected and you are paying for the band with your tax dollars.

OT does not care about none of that, as long as they informed him that they would be doing all this with no disclosure then he is ok with it! He does not mind getting screwed as long as he knows it is coming!

If your just realizing that this administration was going to be pro working class, pro union, pro American, pro US products, pro US business's, pro building America versus the past 8 years of pro multinational Corporates, pro Nation building in Iraq, pro import everything, and the pro oil cartels we had-- then you didn't even watch any of the campaign...

Every administration for years has met with groups without allowing the press in - especially during emergencies, like FDR when he locked the Bankers in a room.....But they were open about having the meeting- the same as here....It happens everyday...Even on lower levels- many meetings are closed-no press allowed-- especially for personnel matter...

Cheney didn't even acknowledge the oil execs meeting in his official report on the Energy Policy- and suddenly all the oil execs got amnesia and when asked by Congress couldn't remember who was there in the meetings or what was talked about....

Come on- you meet with the Vice President of the US and you can't remember who was there or what was discussed :???:

FWIW, AT, when outfits have been bailed out at the expense of the people..............that is car companies, banks, insurance companies, etc, I think that the PEOPLE have a right to know WTF is going on.

The UAW has screwed the pooch for longer than even you have been alive, and the only thing they want is for the Big Three to keep paying Leroy a total of over $70/hour (wages and bennies) to put lugnuts on chicken shite boxes nobody really wants.

I'd say the public has a right to know what transpired. Open and transparent my aching butt!

See that is the Problem Oldtimer you only watched part of the Campaign as most everyone else saw Obama promising a CHANGE in how Government is run. He promised OPEN and TRANSPARENT not more behind close door policy. He promises HONESTY but he is lying to the American people every day. Behind close door meetings, Sign bills without allowing the five days viewing time, Tax Cheats, Lobbists, earmarks, do I need to go on Oldtimer?
And what is Pro American about $900 billion to rebuild Gaza Oldtimer when it wasn't the US that blew it up,

What's Pro American about the reported $100 per plate of Japanese Beef being reportedly served to the Senators at Obama,s "Thank you for passing one spending bill and now pass the next one" Dinner.

How many plasctic Helicopters do you think are made in the US I'll bet that little present the Obama's insulted the Brown with for their boys had Made in China stamped on the bottom.

Pro American Bull he is Pro Obama. And to hell with the free enterprize system that made the US what it was before he became a politician.

Ok I will concede to you Bush was for Big Business lets say Exxon Mobil was who he catered to.

And Obama is pro Union, lets say he caters to unions.

So who would you rather have stock in within your retirement plan? Exxon Mobil or say Chevy who the unions have bankrupted? Where would you rather have a Job working for Exxon or Chevy?

Who employees more people, especially in very near future? Who pays Billions in Taxes and who takes Billions in Bail outs?

Seems like Obama is part of a loosing blood sucking platform and Bush supported bussinesses that paid taxes and put people to work not to mention helped build retirements through their stocks!

Guess that leaves you and Obama on the loosing end of this situation huh?

A+ this country was built on a BALANCE of the two-- Big Business and Labor...Bush went totally Corporate Fascist- and nothing big business could do was wrong- did no oversight over them- enforced no anti trust laws, and even in some cases totally allowed them to go around or break the law ...Clinton/Bush both allowed these big corporate entities run the country- get "too big to fail"...And in doing so they created stagnation and stagflation in the working class- the middle class- and small business- which to me are the true backbone of this country....Promoting the Walmarting of the Nation over the Mom & Pops and family farmer...
Thats why Obama does not scare me- 8 years of building back the middle class/working class- even if it is somewhat socialistic-- may be needed to counteract the Corporate Fascist movement we've had the past 8-14 years...
If he does nothing but clean out some of the government bureacracy's like USDA and FDA of the corporate puppets they have running them-and put a voice of the people back into these Agencies- he's succeeded in my book....

I believe in corporations. They are indispensable instruments of our modern civilization; but I believe that they should be so supervised and so regulated that they shall act for the interest of the community as a whole.
~Theodore Roosevelt

"Our goal is to spread prosperity and see that prosperity is spread around."
