What is going on with South Korea?

Just had a guy call and cancel a load of Panels he bought that were destined for South Korea. He indicated a stop to all shipments to South Korea as a reason. What has anyone heard?

Truckers are striking there. Could have something to do with it.

Not oil, OT. We have plenty here if the Dems would let them drill....

They've got hundreds of 1000's of acres of leases to drill on- that some of the Big companies/speculators are just sitting on- doing nothing.....

Time to make them use it or lose it- just like grazing leases- so that at least someone else has the opportunity to develop it....

The problem with a lot of those leases is that they've been looked over and it's not a workable deal for a variety of reasons. You know dang good and well that a company would rather drill in their leased ground 100 miles from Miami instead of 1000s of miles away in the ice. The fact that they're not tells a guy something.

They already use it or lose it. They're renewed every 10 years.

It's much like around here, they know oil is here and keep us in their back pocket, but there's much better better places to drill.

I agree SH--and they much prefer public lands because of some of the royalties exemptions they've gotten in certain areas- where on private land they are bound to pay the royalties....We've had some deeded land leased for 50 years- and the last time they looked at it was in the 60's....

I don't care where they drill--but if the offshore is so important, why hasn't GW lifted the moratorium on drilling long ago...The only part closed by law was that off the California coast-- the greatest majority was closed by Executive Order by his Daddy GHW- and extended by Clinton...
He could open it anyday with the stroke of a pen rescinding the executive order....
The oil companies want something else from this offshore- the reason they are pushing for a law to open it-- and I smell they are holding out for more royalty exemptions and loopholes so they don't have to pay for oil off public land...

Why drill if oil can be bought in the market cheaper?

I rent a few acres that I don't need, but just in case I do.............. I've got it.

I have seen several news pieces about a general strike in Korea that stemmed from the resumption of US beef to the shelves there. Your Gov made a deal to open trade but the consumer (rightly or wrongly) doesn't want it there. Sorry I can't provide a link but it shouldn't be too hard to find given a little time.

More good publicity for our product thanks to the business savy of USDA and NCBA.

A nice detour in this thread.

The answer was rioting and striking that is not expected to end soon.... LOL, until SK finds trhey are not totally self sufficient and do need the imports for a reason,

South Korea doesn't need our beef, they've been doing just fine without it for 5 years. Somebody needs to tell USDA and NCBA that there are other sources for SK to source their imported beef.
