What is the best AntiVirus to use

Norton is about to run out and they want me to subscribe...
which I don't plan on using. There was a discussion about this some
time ago, but I can't seem to find it. So I'm asking for opinions
on what one to download--free of course. :p
Thanks in advance!!!

the very best free antivirus program available is Avast! It's better than the majority of paid programs.
you should also be running a good firewall and a spyware program. There are free versions of both available as well.
Comodo firewall is a great free program that has all the goodies and works very well.
Spyware terminator is an outstanding spyware program that has a real time shield and prevents infection rather than telling you about it after the fact.

the most important thing is to keep your definitions up to date with the auto update function.Last years vaccine won't work on this years bug.

(you'll be happy to be rid of norton resource hog)

My votes for AVG Free. Seamless, never misses a virus (unlike Norton), and completely free.

Also heard good things about Avast but never used it.

Wellllll, I am trying to download avast, but it won't allow me to register.

I'm following the instructions, but what they say will come up,
DOES NOT COME UP!!! I'm fustrated, so I'm going to bed and
will try tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully, I'll have better luck in the
daylight. :p :???:

yup a Macintosh computer.

they don't have all the security issues that are prevalent with Microsoft OS that are so often exploited by dubious characters.

I got them big words from a book :D

if you would like to know more about keeping your computer secure and some easy things to do to seal of your raw sockets, open ports, and dcom...

check out this great security site and test your firewall.
