Rush Limbaugh Petition Launched By Democrats
The Huffington Post | Stuart Whatley | January 28, 2009 10:18 AM

Entering the fray between Rush Limbaugh and the new Obama administration, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an online petition here to repudiate the incendiary conservative talk-show host.

The petition is accompanied on the DCCC website by the well-circulated video of the Limbaugh statements that began this whole affair: the assertion, "I hope he fails." If anyone missed it, here is the video:

In a mass email, DCCC Executive Director Brian Wolff called for solidarity, saying "Jobs, health care, our place in the world -- the stakes for our nation are high and every American needs President Obama to succeed. Creating real change requires every American stand strong against Rush Limbaugh's attacks -- and all of the other partisan attacks from desperate Republicans that are on the way."

The Hate Trap

Fox’s question was revealing: “Regardless of how you voted in the presidential election, would you say you want President Bush to succeed or not?” Democrats said “not,” 51 percent to 40 percent—where the public at large wanted success by almost two to one.
In other words, the rage extends way beyond the lip-pierced Deaniacs, aging hippies and other fringes of the Democratic Party. Lots of otherwise sensible people—suburban moms, hospital orderlies, schoolteachers, big-hatted church ladies—detest George W. Bush.
When these Democrats say they want Bush to fail, might this mean that they simply reject what they see as his far-right religious and corporate agenda? If so, it’s hard to see why independents—hardly right-wing zealots—hope he succeeds by 63 percent to 34 percent. Sadly, much of the Democratic Party wants to see this president crash and burn.

Polls say a majority of Dems wanted Bush to fail back in 2006 but when one guy says he wants Obama to fail if his policies are going to completely change the country he grew up in and LOVES, the Dems launch a petition against him in 2009. Can we say the Dems are hypocrites.

Can we say the Dems are hypocrites.
Yeap we can say it all day long BUT they will come back and say its Bush's fault...........

It takes a person with a strong moral character to be able to stand for one thing at all times. To be able to look in the mirror and and find fault. Be not be swayed by fear mongering and statements by people who are trying to push ahead their agenda.

As bad as I despised Bush...and I did and still do....but I never wanted the US to fail under his leader because I knew that meant that he'd take me down with him in the process.

Apparently you people have not the common sense to see that we're all in the same boat . If my side goes down....you're gonna go also.

Wow, what a great leader the ' conservatives' have now for the GOP....you went from a cocaine drunk to a radio big mouth who is a drug addict hooked on ' oxy', . Way to go !!!!

Cowardice asks the question - is it safe?
Vanity asks the question - is it popular?
Expediency asks the question - is it political?
But conscience asks the question - is it right?

There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, popular, or political; but because it is right.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Nows the time. Rush realizes this, too bad Obama is playing the same game.

A leader failing and a country failing are not necessarily one in the same. How many times does that have to be pointed out?

In this case, a leader failing and the country failing would actually be the exact opposite.

How many times does this have to be pointed out is a great question. Do the liberals really not understand this? It is such a simple concept that seems to just go over people's heads.

RUSH LIMBAUGH AND MYSELF HOPE THAT OBAMA FAILS IN HIS QUEST TO TURN THIS COUNTRY UPSIDE DOWN AND END CAPITALISM AS WE KNOW IT!

Can you understand that?

Thanks for another example of Dems being Hypocrites

Arkansan Sharlene Wilson testified that she saw Bill Clinton get so high on cocaine that he fell into a garbage can. Clinton’s half-brother Roger, who spent time in jail after pleading guilty to cocaine distribution and conspiracy, is shown on a surveillance tape saying to a known cocaine dealer, “Got to get some for my brother. He’s got a nose like a Hoover,” referring to the vacuum cleaner. And Gennifer Flowers, whose claim that she had a 12-year affair with Bill Clinton is no longer disputed by anyone but Clinton himself, who admits to only one instance, recently said on the Fox News Channel that Clinton told her, (quote) “there were times he did so much cocaine at parties that his head would itch.”

Obama had written in his first book, "Dreams From My Father" (1995), before entering politics, that he had used marijuana and cocaine ("maybe a little blow"). He said he had not tried heroin because he did not like the pusher who was trying to sell it to him.

Now Clinton was known and witnesses have testified to his use of Cocaine and he was tied up in sex scandals while President and he gets a pass.
Obama has admitted he has done drug when under pressure in college and now he is President and has has broken all but a few of his campaigne promised but yet he gets a pass.

And you go after Bush for something that has never been admitted to or testimory given to prove it actually happened.
And Rush that has a right in a democratic free country to say what he wants at least until the Dems get their way to silence the opposition to their point of view. Why do their fear what he is saying, could it be the TRUTH.

Kola. said ---Apparently you people have not the common sense to see that we're all in the same boat . If my side goes down....you're gonna go also.

Kola you have no common sense if you think the Dems are not HYPOCRITES when 51% of them say they hope Bush fails and then attacks anyone that says the same about the Democrat President's policies that are going to change the country they love. Were you not in the same boat when 51% of Dems were wishing for Bush to fail?

What are you saying Tam- that we should legalize weed and coke :???: - or because our last 3 Presidents have used it- one even admitted to be a recovering drug addict- justifies Rush being an oxy addict... :???:

Add in Betty Ford- and Cindy McCain and to me it shows a big need to put much more effort into the availability and access of rehabilitation facilities for those that don't have the wealth of the Fords, McCains, Rush's, Bush's to get treatment- and the reason we need a health care/health care insurance change to cover more treatment...

OT you don't have to go to a high dollar private hospital for treatment. Most states have "state hospitals" for treatment as well as many many others that charge little to nothing. Keep hanging at the watering hole and you may need a little treatment. By the way, it hasn't been all that long since opiates WERE legal.

Untill ANY of yall have suffured the pain that requires oxy do NOT JUDGE.
Untill you have spent over 4 months in constant pain with NO relief in sight hold your opionions to yourself.

Had I not been allergic to Codeine I would be on it now. There is no end in sight for my pain so I understand better now how some can become addicts to pain meds.I hope and pray NONE of yall ever have to feel what I am going through everyday. Yes kola that includes you....this is something no one should ever have to endure.

Coke is a choice to get "high" to "feel good" not a medical reason. Shows their wants come first and hail be damed

What I am saying Oldtimer is you are a hypocrite if you bash Bush for his actions and defend the same actions in a Dem.
You are a hypocrite if you are going to Destroy Sarah Palin for her family actions and give a pass to Biden for his drunk beer bottle tossing daughter and son that is up on fraud charges.

When did Rush become a candidate for President?

He is a Radio personality that had an admitted addiction to pain killers, due to pain suffered after an unsuccessful back surgery and not realizing how addicting the meds the doctor put him are were .

From what I understand this is a very large problem in the US due to the fact that Docters do not have enough time with their patients to explain the dangers of some drugs. Just think how bad the problem will be when Obama gets his way on Universal health care and there is more pressure put on the already storage of docters to start seeing more patients to make ends meet.

BTW Why are you so worried about what Rush has to say anyway?" Could it be because people are stopping drinking the Obama koolaid and are starting to listen and realize what Obama is doing is going to put their grandchildren in debt. :?

That will not be an excuse soon. All medical advice, treatments etc will immediately travel through the internet, and be downloaded at the Whitehouse, where Obama's staff will immediately phone the offending doctor and change the treatment.

This stimulus item will create one "administrator" position, for every doctor, to insure suitable coverage.

The bad news is that Iran will also get all this info. through internet security breaches.
