Dick Morris Fired by Fox? CNN to Get Scoop Tonight
Tuesday, 05 Feb 2013 10:39 PM

By Bill Green

Longtime Fox News analyst Dick Morris is slated to join CNN's Piers Morgan tonight at 9 p.m. (EST) to discuss his mysterious disappearance from Fox since shortly after last November's election.

On Tuesday, Fox confirmed rumors Morris would not have an official role
at the network.
Morris' contract with Fox expired on Sunday.

“His contract is up and we will not be renewing it, ” a Fox spokesperson said.

The Morris announcement comes in the wake of Fox's decision not to
renew Sarah Palin's contract.

The network did announce that former Bush White House adviser Karl Rove had been renewed as a contributor. The network also signed on former Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich as a contributor.

Morris, reached via email, told Newsmax he is looking forward to
his appearance on CNN.

"Piers and I have a lot to talk about, and I am excited that Piers is giving me this opportunity," Morris wrote cryptically. "You won't be disappointed, so tune in."

Fox's rating have fallen dramatically in the wake of last year's election. Press reports indicate the cable channel is re-evaluating its approach after President Obama's strong re-election victory, despite the fact a number of Fox hosts and analysts predicted otherwise.

Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and now Morris is gone as talking heads-- and Kucinich is in.. :???:

As the Repubs/moderates go further left- and the Tea Party fades into the sunset in everybodys but the most radical rights minds-- FOX must can see it needs to follow suit- be more fair and honest- or lose its gravy train..

Too bad they didn't take old Rove with them... Altho his reactions and actions the night of the election with his absolute refusal to believe Romney could lose did provide some comedy tho...

You sure do have a lot of past posts using Dick Morris as a reference to your views to be talking bad about him now.

If you flip-flop anymore, you're going to flop out of the boat.

OT, why is it you Liberals can't tell the difference between a contract ending and being fired?

My guess would be that you use anything, in your attempts to demonize anyone, NOT, included in your "cult"

I predicted otherwise as well. I was sure the country would reject the most devisive president America had ever seen who after his first term in office had failed to complete most every campaign promise he'd made.

I was also sure the voters would realize that giving the man a second term would lay the groundwork for a fundamental change in the country, for the worst.

Using OT's example he was fired by Valley county cause he didn't run again. :D

Or he knew the voters would fire him.

You'd think they would get tired of being exposed as liars....

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is rejoining Fox News as a contributor less than five months after declining the network's offer to renew her contract.

Palin will make her first return appearance on "Fox & Friends" next Monday. Internet pioneer Matt Drudge first reported the news on The Drudge Report.

"The Power of FOX News is unparalleled," Palin said in a statement. "The role of FOX News in the important debates in our world is indispensable. I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at FOX."

Fox News chairman Roger Ailes said he hopes Palin "continues to speak her mind."

BTW
and the Tea Party fades into the sunset in everybodys but the most radical rights minds--

Let's see the reason for the so called fading into the sunset was because the Tea Party groups and some of their donors were targeted by Obama's Administration/IRS to the point a lot of people feared becoming official members as they feared they too would be targeted by the IRS. But I'm guessing Oldtimer would have supported the IRS's actions towards the "*********" if he was man enough to stick around and defend the actions of his Hero, who was just punishing his enemies. :x

And as for FOX

FOX must can see it needs to follow suit- be more fair and honest- or lose its gravy train..

In all of cable, not just cable news, Fox News was the most-watched channel throughout all of last week. During the Boston bombings and subsequent manhunt, the new "Most Trusted Name In News" averaged 2.874 million viewers during primetime, and 1.77 million in total day.

CNN came in a distant third with 1.985 million and 1.329 million respectively.

Because no one turns to left-wing talk radio when major news is breaking, MSNBC humiliated itself with a 19th place showing. Fewer than a million viewers tuned in in primetime, and fewer than 600,000 in total day.

This is not a small deal, either. Once upon a time CNN was America's news outlet when major news broke. Even as Fox has overtaken CNN in recent years, that dynamic would flip during major news events. Obviously, that is no longer the case.

CNN certainly didn't help their situation throughout last week as the network became a laughingstock over flubs both big and small.

MSNBC, obviously, is paying for a choice they made long ago to get out of the news business. Today the network is nothing more than left-wing talk radio with video and smug hosts, many of whom are starting to all look alike.

Looks to me as if FOX is not the one at risk of falling off the gravy train.

MSNBC got some very tough ratings news on Wednesday.

Another month of big crime and disaster news saw the network struggle to keep up with rivals CNN, HLN and Fox News.

MSNBC's prime time numbers were down across the board. Rachel Maddow delivered what the Hollywood Reporter said were her lowest total viewing figures in her show's history, and she even fell behind timeslot rival Piers Morgan—a very rare victory for the CNN host. Chris Hayes also delivered sharply lower ratings than the man he replaced, Ed Schultz, did in 2012. Both of them, along with hosts from Chris Matthews to Al Sharpton to Martin Bashir, landed in fourth place in their timeslots—a marked change from their normal second-place status. ("Morning Joe" did manage to come in second in its slot in total viewers.)

Fox News appeared to have bounced back from its relatively dire situation earlier in 2013.

from another liberal site..
In the midst of a prolonged media strike on various “wacko birds” and a general theme that conservatives were once again in trouble, there seems to be a distinct lack of interest in politics on the part of the Obama faithful.

There are a number of nuggets to look at here, none of which seem to fit with current media gossip lines. Fox is up again

CNN Headline News was up massively,

But who did that leave to soak up the losses? Yes… MSNBC.

I’m not sure which is worse… losing to Piers Morgan or to a spinal inversion therapy infomercial, which probably garnered about the same ratings. But viewer habits can sometimes tell us more than a snapshot delivered by a polling firm which relies on people willing to sit through a phone survey during an off cycle year.

Even some of the most liberal bloggers are taking on a decidedly Eeyore tone and wondering if the boat is springing a leak.

I guess the old analogy.. is that the left doesn't support it's own issues,.. it just wants to force others to support it's issues.. comes true in more then just taxation...

Have you noticed that it never takes long for OT to make himself look the fool?

Uh-Oh. Here comes another history lesson from OT

Before you spend your life savings on Depends I think you need to go back and read some history...About the corruption and distrust that has been a permanent fixture in our government and politics since before it was even formed ( much of it brought on by the falsehoods of politics and political campaigns)... But we've always worked thru it...

Funny, isn't it? He who says there are too many "unknowns" to say if he'd have fought on the side of the American Revolutionaries gives me a history lesson every day.
