What's your take on Bill Cosby?

Is he a rapist and a pervert? Or is he experiencing the Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas effect of Uncle Tom treatment for criticizing black society? If he's guilty why has it taken so long to string him up, like decades? :???: If he'd just gotten a rainbow coalition pass from Jesse. :x

I think he's likely guilty of what those women are accusing him of because guys like that usually leave a trail of them behind.....think Slick Willy......one by one they finally come forward with their stories and they usually fit a pattern.

And now that you've mentioned Clarence Thomas, that's the reason I was always convinced he was innocent of the charges leveled at him by Anita Hill. If he'd done half the stuff she claimed, there'd have been a long line of other women making similar claims. I don't recall that a single other woman ever stepped forward to accuse him. Not one.

I heard or read an interesting take on this...

often in the sixties if a starlet wanted a leg up in the business she would either need to be more talented then all the rest... or willing.

and that many of the accusations came after they were either turned down for a part and the sugar daddy didn't deliver as insinuated..

or the accusations came years later..

I agree that "today" NO means NO,.. and that is should always have been that way.. but the ladies in these situations need to realize the situation they are putting themselves in... actions have consequences.

on another note.. I just listened to one of the accusers.. when talking of Cosby, she said the word they often instead of us.. or me/I .,..

Does it mean she is just making crap up.. only she and Cosby know..

Every rumor has a grain of truth somewhere in it, like a pearl and a grain of sand.

One or two women, I'd be doubtful but I think the tally is up to about 13-14 women. None of them are connected to each other in any way.

Something's going on for sure as they all can't have made up the same story.

But, it's been sooooooooooooo long ago, complain now, 40+ yrs later, I'm not sure what good it will do to be honest.

I've always appreciated Cosby's family quality shows, though never a big fan of TV entertainment, as reading has always come first for me.

Some things about his campaign against him bother me, especially the woman I saw on TV with her claims: she said he "gave" her alcohol and pills, and she "discovered" that her pajama bottoms were off! So, if that is true, how did he force her to drink that combination? Why was she in his company in her pajamas if she didn't intend for it to be more than a friendly chat???

It seems awfully easy for a relative unknown person to accuse a famous one, AND, if there was no complaint for all those years and now several women are making similar claims, I believe they bear investigation to assure they are legitimately making those claims.

I'm not sure but that there should be a statute of limitations, and the decisions about any entertainment show belong in the hands of those paying the bills. Their loss either way, imo, maybe especially costly for them if Cosby is validated as innocent, for jumping the gun on their decision.

If memory serves me correct there wasn't a grain of truth in the Duke rape allegations

Every rumor has a grain of truth somewhere in it, like a pearl and a grain of sand.

That being said when you have numerous accusations Like Teddy Kennedy, Bill clinton that may be true but then when you have one accuser like Clarence Thomas it can't always be so

Maybe Jello pudding is some sort of afro-disiac?

What I'm also wondering is when bogus accusations of misconduct are going to surface in the press about Ben Carson, just because there's such a history of conservative Blacks being smeared. I'll say there's a 75% chance the left will trot out a bimbo during the primaries, depending on how he's doing.

I will hate to see that. Same as I hate to see any trumped up accusation of this sort. In this country it has always been "innocent until proven guilty". That goes out the window if you are a Conservative in politics. I hope Ben Carson is able to stand up to what they will crucify him with....you can bet your boots, it's coming.

I think it's too bad this is all in front of the public with no formal charges. This kind of accusation sticks with a person even if proven not guilty. The press and the accusers have ruined everything he has ever done just by the accusations and even if innocent he has that for the rest of whatever life he has left.
I have no idea if he is guilty or innocent, I'm not willing to make that judgement. If he is guilty I hope his punishment fits the crime.

Read an interesting article yesterday that claims that this campaign has more to do with breaking the black family down, even more.

Bill Cosby, and his shows have always been an example of a wholesome black family, which is not advantageous to the "leftist" agenda. So, you attack and destroy the person that represents that wholesome black family.

Alinsky like...

Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.

It's very much like what they do with differing opinions on Gay marriage, climate change etc.

It doesn't matter whether the individual is later found innocent...his/her credibility is shot and whatever their true target, that individual will never be a spokesman for it again.

I'll see if I can find the article.
