a friend gave this analogy of conservative vs democrat investing.
invest. it will make you more money, more productive,
spending.. I just wanted it?
Well that is one way to look at it Steve but I think we need a bit more info to know who is really spending and who is investing here.
As if your friend's tools, truck, and loader are all new and he wants to buy newer ones as the neighbor just out did him status wise, then the wife is right he spent.
On the other hand if his wife wants to buy a new set of curtains to stop the rising cost of the home heating and cooling bills. Or wants to buy a new dress so she looks a bit more professional at her job which might land her a promotion and pay raise or wants to buy a new closest organizer as the old one is at risk of coming down on her head and injuring her, One might say the wife is right again as she invested to save money, make more income or save injury that might have cause her to miss work and cause a lose in income.
The motive behind the spending is what makes it Spending verse Investing. And sometimes even the man's claimed "investing" is nothing more than pure un-necessary spending.
Obama was told by the voters he was to knock off the SPENDING and CUT SPENDING , so what did he do, he used the catch phrase INVESTING in the SOTUA. I believe he thinks the voters are to stupid to realize he is still SPENDING/investing in projects/trucks the tax payers/couple CAN"T AFFORD.
