Which makes the most sense?

I have a neighbor that is calving 200 head of first calf heifers, and 700 head of older cows. He started last week, and they calve for 90 days. Got another neighbor that have 600 head of cows, of which probably 40 are first calvers. The first guy calves everything by himself. His wife works in town, and his kids are young enough to not be a whole lot of help. The other guy has himself plus 5 or 6 other people helping him calve.
To me it almost seems like the extremes at both ends. Either not enough help, or in the other guys case almost too much help. I know in years past, the success rate for both is pretty much the same.
Of course then there is me. I think all told we have 45 box stalls in 3 different calving barns, and I have 2 Longhorn cows to calve. Talk about over kill.
